Why has most of the content been deleted?

I was looking through ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Titan/Users and all of the users names are still there but most of the content is missing. Most conspicuously are DogGuy's kitchen maker and Sampsons Revision 01 WM5 ROM? I'm sure more is missing because most of the folders are pretty empty.

Has any of this content been backed up someplace else or is it lost?

Some jerk, thought it'd be nice to wipe the FTP so thats why it looks like that now.
We're hoping some people have some of the content that was missing, so it can be restored to its former glory.

Well, in that case, I have a few pieces that are missing... I'll get my hands on an ftp program and upload what little I have. If everyone does the same it should be restored pretty quickly.

It never occurred to me that someone would intentionally deface the site. That's akin to burning books...

i have the sampsoms wm5 rev 01 .nbh, just dont know how to upload. i can email it to anyone who wants to upload.

Just get an ftp client and

use ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/ as the URL

User name ppcgeeks
Password ezupload

I just uploaded some of DogGuy's stuff that had been deleted. (Thats all I had)

P.S. I used gftp (A Linux ftp client) .

i was interested in starting another server without the restrictions of the site's ftp. not appearing to be catching much attention though. had this idea been in effect, im sure most of the current mostly used stuff from the ftp woulda been backed up there.

my main focus was pretty much for us users to upload and share our current cab files and programs, that for one reason or another appear to be restricted from the ftp.

there's a popular website people use to get these programs but they are down too often, links to the files are broken a lot, and rapidshare and megaupload links is a slow process anyhow.

i suggested using a free 5 gig xdrive and the files can be backed up every now and then to another free 5 gig xdrive acct....for the unfortunate event that some weirdo decides to delete it. only drawback though is that...xdrive's not accessible from the phone. so the programs would have to be downloaded via pc..and activesynced to the phone.

Well the forum is running on a dedicated server now, so Wideawake could use it for the FTP as well instead of the shared hosting it is currently running on. I could help set that up if need be.

wonder how to strike more users attention with it. im sure it would get used a lot. i have quite a few progs but it would be nice to have one spot to go to get them ALL. with that being the case it's kinda like a shared responsibility where everyone has to chip in to make it a fully loaded server...for all ppc programs.
