Sprint 1.40 Radio and PRL Update??

Hey, first post. Great forum with lots to learn!

I just recently got a Mogul from Sprint. I came from a Treo 755p. What I'm finding is the signal on the Mogul is quite a bit worse than the Treo, and the signal meter just jumps all over. I've also found that manually switching between roaming and Sprint only causes the lock up problems I've read about. I assume some of that might be hardware related, however I've read many posts related to the radio version and PRL being a possible causes as well.

I currently have the stock ROM - 2.17.651.0 and Radio of 1.47.01. My PRL is 60610. All of that is what it came with.

So my question is, what approach should I use to try to improve my reception? I've looked in the FTP site here for the 1.40 radio, but it doesn't appear to be there, or at least not where I'm looking..."Titan/Radios"?

Then, I've found the site with all the PRL's and downloaded the newest one, however I don't have my MSL number. I assume Sprint could either give that to me, or push the newest PRL to my phone, but I hate to go through that if it won't help much.

So I'm wondering what to try. I've read the threads here that explain how to flash to a new ROM, but I'm not clear on how those will effect the radio reception specifically. I'm pleased overall with the function of the software, just not the reception.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, just to explain my usage...I do use the Office products and Exchange for direct push. That's a key element, so any ROM that wouldn't include those abilities wouldn't be a good choice for me. I'm pretty confident in flashing if that's the best option. Worst case...I'll go back to my Treo, but I sure don't want to if I can get the phone signal up a bit on the Mogul.

Thanks!!
