USBModem and Radio 3.27

I am almost ready to try a custom ROM and flash the new radio, etc but...I depend entirely on my PPC6800 (I have Alltel service) for high speed data thru tethering to my MacBook and our home computer. I'm sure I can work thru any bugs with Internet Sharing on our family Windows XP box but does anybody have any experience/issues with USBModem (which I currently use) and the new radio when tethering to a Mac? If it doesn't work I'm screwed. Thanks for any help.

Re: USBModem and Radio 3.27

I used to use USBModem to tether with my wife's G4 back in the day (ok probably like 6 months ago). I can give it a shot tonight if you haven't made the jump by then. Usually I just use WMWiFiRouter if she needs to get online though.

Re: USBModem and Radio 3.27

When the unofficial release of the 3.16 rom which comes with the 3.27 radio, i upgraded the rom to my phone, re-installed every program i had before which included WModem and tried tethering it like i would always do, but I just kept on getting "line is busy" when trying to connect, so i went back to 2.17 rom and worked perfect. Maybe it was just my phone (probably was), but didnt work, but wouldnt hurt to give it a try

That would be great...I'd sure appreciate it. I depend alot on that program for data tethering and its the only thing holding me back now from trying the new ROMs and radio.
Thanks

Thats what I'm afraid will happen and reverting back to the original ROM hasn't been smooth for alot of people either so I'd rather not even try if other people report issues with USBModem and the radio. Thanks

Re: USBModem and Radio 3.27

Even if USBModem won't work, I wouldn't let that hold you back. You can always share your connection with a Mac over WiFi via WMWiFiRouter. GPS and Rev A are sweet! Either way, I'll give USBModem a shot tonight (good thing I keep every single cab I've ever used on my storage card) and report back.

Thanks...if it doesn't work I'll explore WMWiFiRouter...Not familiar with it at all.

Re: USBModem and Radio 3.27

If you have Unlimited Data, why don't use Internet Sharing option in Mogul to connect with laptop or pc. I have unlimited data in Mogul and I use internet sharing option either thu Bluetooth or usb coonection. It works perfect with Radio 3.27, I always get speed between 1.8mbps to 2.1mbps. It even fasters than my regular dsl.

Internet sharing won't work in the Mac OS...works great for my Windows box tho! I'm doing a little research on the WMWiFiRouter option....looks interesting.
