Re: USBModem and Radio 3.27

Macbook, and Mogul with 3.27 radio.
I finally tried WMWifiRouter, and it's great. So much easier than messing around with BT etc, and (I presume) allows multiple wifi connections through the phone.
Not getting great speeds, but my area is overloaded with Rev A users. (551Kb/s 209Kb/s 90ms latency).

Checking trial on WMWiFiRouter now....Whoa....this is very cool! Will have to play with this awhile. I still tethered after connecting via USB to keep battery on phone charged. Wonder what this will cost on final release? Still curious to know what Bedoig finds out tonight about using USBModem...I already own it. This is a great plan B though!

Re: USBModem and Radio 3.27

Ya, WMWiFiRouter is great. It was freeware up until a couple weeks ago when Chainfire decided to take it commercial. Can't blame him, it is a really useful app. I'll probably stick with the last freeware version (I think it's .91) for now, but there are several new useful features in the latest trial versions. I'd definetly step up and buy a license if he ever gets it to work in infrastructure mode.

I'm not sure if he wants prior versions shared or not. To me it seems like if .91 was released as freeware, it should remain freeware. I'll honor Chainfire's wishes for now though, until he clarifies his official position.

I'm off in 3 hours. I'll give USBModem a shot then.

Re: USBModem and Radio 3.27

Sorry about the delayed response, I totally forgot about testing this. You'll be happy to know that USBModem is working as usual.

Just for kicks I did a speed test. Pre-Rev A speeds at my house were 250-300 (poor signal). With Rev A I'm getting right around 1 meg down and 150-200 up tethered to my wife's G4 over USBModem (still poor signal). This has also been confirmed several times tethered to Windows PCs over WiFi. And that's not even close to my highest Rev A speeds, which happen to be around 2.2 mbps down, 550 up.

You're going to love 3.16/3.27! I know I do.
