So i've been playing around with this "kitchen" and have yet to understand how you actually do anything. Is there any noob guide to using a kitchen?

Yes it does. The WM 6.1 ROMs are built off the leaked 3.16 GPS ROMs. They also use the same 3.27 radio which is needed to enable GPS and EVDO Rev. A.

Follow the link in the OP. DCD should have included a link to download the 2009 C++ Visual basic program required to run the batch file BUILDNB.bat.
If the link is not there, then it is:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

Download and install that. You'll error out trying to use the kitchen without it.

My Sprint has worked flawlessly since I flashed 3.27.

Best I could recommend would be to download the new Sprint ROM, flash it, hard reset, flash the 3.27 radio again, hard reset. Sometimes a flash can go wacky for no reason. Also, I always hard reset after any flash, seems for some reason things dont always get placed into memory properly.

I'm having the same issue. The phone starts up in roaming mode, and won't connect the first time I try to access the internet. After that, it stops roaming and starts working, but it's still annoying, and it's a deal-breaker if it can't connect while roaming anyway.
