if you only take into account a "early" and "late" part of a quarter and not a "mid", then early q1 2008 would be 45.5 days and would end at 12pm feb 15 (whenever 12pm happens latest in usa or the world)

i wouldn't put it past the companies involved to use this logic.

i just hope they fixed and/or added enough things for the phone to be up to snuff, because we could be looking at our next-to-last if not last official update.
Umm, I think you forgot that this is a leap year!

Well, the Radio flash can only be done by HTC/Sprint, so thats one good reason to anticipate an official release. The major thing though, as is with any device with proprietary hardware, DEVICE DRIVERS get updated by the manufacturer. PPC's aren't like normal PC's in the sense that we cannot just go to the manufacturers website for different hardware components and download up-to-date device drivers. Its a pick-fest between the carriers when a ROM is released to compile the best/newest drivers from each ROM into one fast stable build with the best components from each device. Sprint throws out a new ROM, device drivers may have matured a bit, and we may see overall stability increases because of it.

In any case... its fun to have something to wish for/hope for. Like many times before though, nobody should hold their breath on this one - you may turn blue before Sprint delivers the Yellow.

I like the way this sounds. But, on the other hand........... We have been waiting an awful long time. Top things I want to see:

*Threaded SMS
*Picture messaging
*Sprint TV
*100% Guaranteed Rev A
*100% Guaranteed GPS
*Windows Mobile 6.1
*Faster Performance

What percentage of this do you think we'll get? Cause I mean, the new ROM version is up to 3.xx now. They only did minor updates with 2.xx. What's everyone's thoughts?

I wander what will come first the new sprint update or my invite from skyfox for beta testing. I've kinda been thinking that they both will be beat by the date I asked from the hot chick in high school that told me "when hell freezes over"

Not unless they use a Windows Mobile 6.1 core which I highly doubt since the beta was WinMo 6

Not sure what you expect here.. it won't work in a tunnel or under a densely leafed tree.

Doubtful... Sprint loves to load crap on their OEM ROM's which eat up memory.

I just want to see EVDO stop dropping on the new radio, that's all I care about. Everything else I will rely on no2chem and DCD for.

The difference between WM6 and WM6.1 in terms of memory management and performance was enough to drag me back from the Touch permanently and that's really saying something.

But the fact remains that there are show-stopper issues with the current radio. Data disconnects are COMPLETELY unacceptable.

hm, I'm going to be hopefull that it comes out friday. something to look forward to possibly. I'm not holding my breath though. If anything, it's a good starting point to be modified, right?

I want to see picture messaging, gps, and radio. oh, tv would be nice too. but my battery dies all the time, so I probably wouldn't use it much.

As for speed, and, I agree, "Doubtful... Sprint loves to load crap on their OEM ROM's which eat up memory." definitely!!

anyway, *crosses fingers* for new version! I'm tired of mine not working properly.
