Rom Cooks: Write to ExtROM with nueExtROM

I recently developed a utility that allows you to write to extrom - however it must be inserted into rom because WM isn't playing nicely with loading other drivers. I have provided an easy to install OEM package, just drop the OEM package to install the hide/unhide tool, and replace the OEM_FLASHDRV.dll module in OEMDRIVERS with the one provided.

You can find the tool here.

I am now accepting donations as I spend a considerable amount of time working with this device. If you enjoy my work, donations are appreciated.

So, this allows us to write a new extROM?

Your latest ROM build mentions this, as well. Is it built into it and/or the basekit, or do I still need to add it from here?

it lets you actively modify extrom from your device

the oemflashdrv.dll is already patched, you simply need to add the nueextrom package located in packages.

I'm a bit confused on how can we utilize this.
Can we use the extended rom to store sensitive information that we want to keep after a hard reset? can we use it as extra space to install applications?

Think of the ExtROM like a partition...you can store stuff there and install programs. However, anything that you store/install there will not be saved if you hard reset. It is like a small capacity internal SD card...

Cab Version Here

Here is a cabbed version I created from no2chem's excellent work. I updated it to be a single cab install, so the previous testcert cab isn't required.

Install Instructions
1. Install no2chem 6800 nueExtROMc.cab
3. It will prompt you to reboot. After a reboot it should be working for you.

If you uninstall it will go back to normal.

File Type: zip no2chem 6800 nueExtROMc.zip (43.5 KB, 362 views) Click for barcode!

*If you have already installed the TestCert_Privileged.cab from another app then you are not required to install it again. However, it will not hurt to install it again if you are not sure.
It didn't prompt for a reboot, so I did it on my own. I see the program in settings and in the programs folder but I can't find my extended rom anywhere. Any ideas? I tried uninstalling but it wouldn't let me.
