this aint no placebo, it takes forever to pick up a satelite here at home in my office. I just did the reg change rebooted and started up the spring gps program and searched for a auto parts store and with in 2-4 seconds BAM!! there it was. it used to take for everrrrrr.
Now, that said, is this thing "always on" like stated before in this thread or does it just work real good? if its always on is there a way to protect the batery from being drained? thanks |

I'm inside a commercial building and there is no difference in sattelites (0-1) after installing 5046 latest a few minutes ago. Is my first attempt and looks good, so far. Gonna drive home, now, for about an hour across two cellular market areas and roaming to run it through the ringer. Nice work, though, from what I've seen, no2chem. You are the bomb!

Oh my I just set this up and I got 10 sats. (Not) Pls this reg hack does nothing... zero... to add additional satellites to your phone. It may seem to you that it does but agps has nothing to do with more satellite locks. It depends on your topography and how many birds your phone antenna can pull in and thats the bottom line.
I am using the quick gps hack and it seems that when I use it I get a lock within ten seconds. I am not located in a valley either. I am in a hill area. If I don't use the quick gps hack it it takes about three to five minutes to get a lock. Wonder why we have to go so far to a server for aGPS. Anyone got an IP here in the States??? Hrm, this is quite interesting. We all seem to be getting "mixed" results. Ok, maybe post your carrier's too? Oh, and please state if you are using the "working" QuickGPS program as well. So kinda like this:
ROM: no2chem 5044 Carrier: TELUS QuickGPS: Yes Notes: Obtains GPS lock with satellites within 45 seconds in areas where I could NOT obtain/maintain locks before. Also, I notice that in Google Maps, the location dot snaps to where I am (roughly) BEFORE the message in the right hand corner shows any satellites locked and then shifts a bit once satellites are locked. verkion |
