It's nice to know that calling his number gets to exec cs. other than that it was mostly a waste of time. CS knows nothing about that type of stuff. Release dates, plans etc are only released to cs when they need to know for training, maybe a day ahead of it. Other than that they are intentionally kept in the dark. Really, calling CS is just a complete waste of time.

Gary is no longer with Sprint. He was forced by the Board of Director to step down because he ran the Sprint/Nextel merger into the ground.

i called the office of the ceo number today and she transfered me to executive customer care who knows nothing about the rom update. I also informed him as to way my mogul a $600 phone does not do pic mail and that a simple $99 phone can he claims it has to do with the fact that regular email is part of the phone. i said i send my pic to number@pm.sprint.com to my fellow sprint users and it also works since i sent one to me. I also asked about sprint tv and said a htc touch can do it so why cant the mogul. he said it had to do with when the phones came out and sprint is aware of the issues but has no plans to offer the service at this time. i informed him that i can go directly to mobi tv and purchase a subscription from them and install it and watch tv but why should i when sprint tv is apart of the sprint everything unlimited plan. I seem to think that sprint wants only business users to have the mogul and no one else. so buy the touch if you want tv from sprint.

Let me make it clear. Hesse is the CEO now. New number, new everything. NOT Forsee. Forsee is now President of Mizzou.

Sprint won't just 'release' the Rom, they have to update their online phone support info, their (sic) tech support people, all their media relating to the new features....

Leaking the 3.16 Rom was a great idea, intentional or not. You can bet Sprint was monitoring this and other sites and taking notes. Lets just hope they implement changes as necessary.

Funny how they wont support the new Rom but will gladly sell us Sprint Navigation (even though we dont 'officially' have GPS). You have to wonder if they leaked the Rom with the SprintNav to see how many people would subscribe.

Remember that ulimately it is SALES that drives Sprint... not keeping existing users happy (note how many Touch users jumped from Mogul yet still stayed with Sprint?). I'd be more inclined to believe we will see a new PPC device before the Rom update is 'officially' released.

I dont understand why is it so ****ing hard to make the gps work and a stable rom. My work buddie has a att tilt with the same parts and his gps works. What does the gps have to do with the rest of the rom. why cant they just take 2.17 and enable the gps? I have to belive the issues are with money and not being able to monitor or charge people for that stupid telenav, etc, maybe the same issue with sprint tv. The entire thing is weird and at this point it would not suprise me if there never was an update, im mean **** how long has this phone been out.

Well I just sent off an Email back to My contact Directly in the Department that Deals with this to find out the Latest information on the Update. Last I heard it is still March 10th and he did not email me back stating otherwise.

Rather handy contact. If so it should hit training end of this week or over the weekend. Should pop up at least a day before.

I personally think the reason that it has not been released is because they cannot lock it. There are certain execs at Sprint that are dead focused to making as much as possible on every feature regardless of the competition (Cough John Garcia Cough) they are stupid and should be canned (hence the reason my true identity is not given). This is stupid. Make the money on the data plan and let the user get his own free gps. Most business and non savvy users will still pay for it from the sprint app store anyways, it is just the real techies that will find the free apps.

I got a reply this morning. The Update is still on track to be released on the 10th..

Come on Mar 10th.. would be nice to get this update LOL.. Only 6 more days LOL..
