Didn't follow the guide closely enough and ended up with an XV 6800 that is stuck at the Verizon bootscreen. I'm sad, especially with the success everyone else seems to have doing this. As such, the device cannot be recognized by windows and works now as a lovely paper weight. It seems that the DCD rom I loaded requires the radio update PRIOR flashing. I only ran the oli pro 2.4 before flashing.

EDIT: Nevermind. Advice to all newbies, like myself. READ READ READ then DO. I booted into bootmode by holding Camera and Power and flashed the verizon stock rom back on.

Just a warning to Verizon XV6800 users: Running the sprint radio mod affects your ability to connect to the Verizon wireless network, regardless of the cabs you run afterward. I've flashed back to the stock Verizon ROM and found that while I am able to provision fine, as well as make and receive calls, I cannot connect to the data network, even with the default settings (xxxxxxxxxx@vzw3g.com, vzw). Verizon support is convinced that the handset must be repaired.

Just a warning. To be thorough, I did the following:
1) Loaded Olipro SPL 2.4 unlocker
2) Loaded Titan 3.3.5 Sprint Radio update
3) Loaded DCD WM 6.1 3.1.2

Decided that it was using more memory than the stock load. No picture messaging, and stuck on sprint network (even after hard reset, canceling the customization cabs, and loading the dcd -Titan Verizon carrier cabs. -- Still amazing though, and threaded texting was a plus) So.... I then:



4) Relocked the device using the Titan Relocker
5) Loaded the signed Verizon complete ROM
6) Let the stock VZW customizations run
7) Hard reset - probably pointless but just in case
8) Provisioned the phone with *228; followed by the reset - tested phone calls - groovy - no data
8a) Default settings for DUN were blank - tried forcing XXXXXXXXXX@vzw3g.com, vzw (where XXXXXXXXXX was my MDN)
9) *22899 to update the PRL - still able to make phone calls, but no data
10) Called Verizon, who told me that there's absolutely NO WAY to change the Data Connect username and password through a misconfigured EPST (sprint radio rom...)

I'm going into the store to see if they'll replace the device for me. I have a feeling it won't be a cake walk, but hey, it's Verizon, not Sprint. Maybe I'll get lucky. I'm not convinced the device is busted, but ol' Leroy sounded convinced it was on the phone. Here's to a working XV6800.

Hmm, I've upgraded to the sprint radio without any problems. I'm even noticing significantly quicker EVDO response (at least compared to my 6700) and GPS works fine.

But I did my slightly differently:

unlocked and updated the boot loader
flashed the latest shipping Sprint ROM
booted sprint without customizations
*22899 which provisioned the phone, but the AKEY was messed up.
Called verizon, got the authentication straightened out.
Flashed a kitchen ROM

everything works just fine. probably wouldn't have needed to do the AKEY step if I'd reflashed into a verizon rom immediately without booting the sprint rom.

Ran the update up to loading version 3.35 and then the PPC6800 Bell does not get out of the rainbow mode; the SPL is Olipro 2.4; tried resetting soft and hard but still stuck on the "rainbow" any suggestions?

Just want to thank quantumforce1 for a great write up on the procedure; this is fantastic for the beginners to the world of "adapting" the smartphones.
Quick comment , the exit bootloader program does not work on Vista very well, after 1.5 hours of struggle to bypass the "USB port used by ActiveSync" that kept getting back on as soon as I tried to load the program, I used my desktop based on XP and it worked great at first try.

Hi Guys,
This is my first post here. I have been reading up on this forum a lot and doing some exp of my own. I need some help and I know there has been a lot of things written about flashing a phone. I followed the steps to the best of my ability.
I was trying to flash a Sprint ppc6800 to cricket.
I used the olipro 2.40
than I used the stock rom from the htc site.
Used a custom rom made by Vetvito.
I also checked and inputed my Min and other stuff I need to change as it stated http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...hlight=cricket in this thread.
I also loaded the 1050_prl file for cricket.
I thought I was ready to activate the phone. I called cricket. Changed my EsN on file. Dialed the *228 and it came back with a message that said my esn had been tried to be activated for more than 15 times and phone will lock for 1 minutes and reset. It resets after that. This is a pop up on the phone. Not a message from cricket. So I called cricket back and there was no problem on their end.
Could you tell me what I am doing wrong? I am without a phone as my phone got shut off when I gave them the esn for the new phone.
Only thing I didn't from the list is
Please help!!!!

ARGH!!! Can you just link the correct relocker so we don't have to dicipher that thread?

Then on your thread: 4. Run the Unofficial carrier released rom 3.35.651.2 (this has the radio also)

I ran this on my Bell Mobility PPC6800 2.13.666.0 ROM and I get as far as the screen with the color bars. Then nothing... IMAGE ERROR - PLEASE CHECK IMAGE (showing on PC).

If somebody is interested to make custom instructions and attach the correct files that I can download, I would gladly pay for your kind assistance. I'm a bit exhausted from trying to piece together all the tiny pieces to be found on these forums and ending up with a handful of crumbs.

I found same thing doing the Sprint ROM... rainbow screen. BELL PPC6800 as well.

I'd pay someone to put together instructions just for Bell PPC6800 that has WM6.0 original installed.](*,)
