GPS Problems

I'm using DcD 2.20 ROM and have the 3.27 radio. When I open up Google Maps and enable the GPS, it says that it activates the GPS, but does not acquire any sats - I've waited a good 10 minutes to so...and didn't get a single sat. If I turn off the GPS then, or close the program...the phone locks up for a good 2 mintues or so. I searched around the forum, but couldn't find anything. Are there any steps I missed to get the GPS functioning? I double checked my settings for the GPS, tried com 5, everything looks to be setup correctly. Any thoughts are appreciated.

The first time it finds the sats it can take about an hour. After that it should start to only take a few minutes. Your best bet is to take your phone and put it outside for an hour and then go check on it.

You also need to make sure you go into Settings -> Phone -> Services -> Location Setting and make sure it's on.

Up to an hour? Really? Thanks for the info. I'll leave it on tonight and download the GPSAssist tool and see if that gets me in action.

I don't know how I missed that GPS FAQ. What did it for me was turning the Location off and then back on. After that - I had sats in under a minute.
