UPDATED: Audiopara.csv for 3.XX ROMs, now in cab style

2 Attachment(s)
THIS IS FOR THE 3.XX ROMS ONLY.

SEE UPDATE BELOW

This will not work with the older 2.XX ROMs, the files are different between the ROMs and using the wrong one may make your phone SILENT.

This file is designed to increase the volume of the phone. It increases the ear piece speaker, speakerphone speaker, and headphone/handsfree speaker levels.

The ear piece and speakerphone speakers start at the factory Sprint level for low, but get louder in greater steps. The loudest was near the edge of distortion when I called my voicemail.

The headphone/handsfree level has been increased by about 15%, no where near as much as the first 2, but its headphones, so I'm not jacking it up that much.

To install....

1. Download audiopara.csv.txt
2. Rename to audiopara.csv (meaning you get rid of the .txt part)
3. Backup audiopara.csv from your Windows directory of your phone.
4. Copy into the Windows directory of your phone, overwriting the original.
5. Soft reset. Yes you need to soft reset.

Disclaimer : I am not responsible if you break your phone or go deaf. This is not a hard thing to do, read the directions twice. Also be careful when using initially as the volume is louder than it was when you got the phone.

Anyone may feel free to use this file in a custom ROM or whatever, jsut put my name in there, if you would. :D

Thanks to mswlogo for figuring out how to do this in the older ROMs.

Glad I could finally give back to the community that has helped me out so much. Enjoy.

FILE: http://www.scrufdog.com/AudioPara.csv.txt Right click, and Save Target As...

If someone wants to do a mirror thing go for it.

UPDATE

I have now updated the install method.
I've also added the original since people arent backing up.

Here's the new and improved way to install. This zip file has my original .csv file in it AND now comes with a .cab file for easy install, without overwriting and copying and such.

Instructions are the same for the csv file.

Instructions for the cab are fairly simple.

1. Copy cab to phone.
2. Run cab, install to Device.
3. When done, soft reset.
4. Enjoy loudness.

Enjoy.

Let me know if there are problems.

Worked perfect for me... thanks!

I had to use Explorer to copy the original into another folder then overwrite it with TC... both Explorer and total commander wouldn't let me rename it for some reason.

Scrufdog 02-01-2008 11:25 PM

the server was down earlier for some stupid reason, try again everyone.

Hello, I'm running the new 3.16 rom and have lost my ring tones. I went to put this file in windows on my phone and it asked me if I was sure that I wanted to do this. It said it could damage my phone. I read that you said to back up the original file but is there a good chance that this file could wreck my phone. Also, would this file fix my ring tone problem possibly?

Thats a normal warning for overwriting anything in the Windows directory. It shouldnt do any harm to your phone. I use it, and other people here have used it with 0 problems.

It wont help your ring tone problem though. It only makes everything louder.

laynpipeallday 02-03-2008 09:21 PM

Damager 02-06-2008 12:29 AM

will this work for the htc apache? (6700) im running wm6 one of the prepacked carrier roms built by helmi c back in i think august 2007? i didnt actually see a file called audiopara.csv in the windows directory.

Scrufdog 02-06-2008 12:45 AM

if the file doesnt already exist I very much doubt placing mine there would have any effect.

Do you need to do this through Active sync or Resco Expl on the phone?

Wished I see this when using the 3.16 ROM. Will this work with the newest ROM's that are based on official Spring release (e.g., DCD 3.0.0)?

once its on the phone, its best to use Resco to copy over the original. Sometimes the stock explorer complains about overwriting a ROM file.

yes, this works with the new DCD rom. I use it for that. I know DCD uses a tweak audiopara already, but I believe he only turns up the earpiece speaker, where I turn the earpiece, speakerphone, and wired headphones up.

Yeah, yours is a lot louder actually, which is exactly what I wanted, plus I didn't want to install any extra stuff, I like to keep mine nice and clean...

Re: Audiopara.csv for 3.16 ROM, here you go...

is there any way to get this on the phone without installing resco explorer? i copied my original into a new folder, then i used activesync to copy the file onto the phone. then i renamed it audiopara.csv, and it did nothing. both versions were still in windows. then i took off the csv extension, and both versions again were still there. i could scroll up and see the original still there...two files with the exact same name. then on the original, i did a 'undo name change' and it stuck csv back onto the original. it then allowed me to delete it. i rebooted, and the file is there now, but it has the original date of the original file which is 2/22/08. im not sure if thats the new or old one. seems to be the old one. any ideas?

I'm working on the file tonight, trying to bump some other things up and I can copy it into Windows using Activesync. Renamed it to AudioPara.csv on the computer, then drag/dropped into the windows directory of the phone. Overwrote it just fine

it didnt do it for me. when i dropped it using activesync, it looked like it copied it but it didnt. it just added it to the list. the original stayed there with a date of 2/22/08. i cannot get rid of the original at all. i loaded resco explorer, but when i try to rename it or delete it, it says that it is in ROM and cannot be deleted. any help?

Re: Audiopara.csv for 3.16 ROM, here you go...

try this...

In Resco, go to Menu --> Options --> General ... Go to Browser tab and uncheck everything there.

Try copying with Resco again after that.
