Its very simple to do it yourself. Simply download the .cab listed in the very first post. After you download it, plug your phone in and do an active sync. Click on EXPLORE in the active sync window on your PC, and then move the .cab file over to that new explore window. Note where exactly you are dragging it to, as you will need to navigate to this location on the phone. On the phone, go to START>PROGRAMS>FILE EXPLORER, and find the file you moved over to the phone. Then just click it. That's all!

How about the 3.35 ROM?

I just installed this fix by the CAB method but haven't noticed a big change--particularly through the speaker--any ideas on what to check on

There is a listing, but it doesnt seem to actually change anything. The entry is not the same style as the speaker entries.... Speakers has 5 levels, ringer shows one, doesnt do anything

I'm assuming you soft reset afterwards, as the instructions say? Otherwise, if you cant tell a difference between mine and stock, then you either already had a bumped up file, or your going deaf :D

Scrufdog,

the cab file worked thanks for the assist.

Thanks for this Scrufdog. I don't know if I'm going deaf, but I could barely hear my Mogul and with "soft talkers" it was impossible.

The difference is like night and day for me.

Re: Audiopara.csv for 3.16 ROM, here you go...

I just installed the audioparam.cab file on my xv6800 with WM6 - Lost all sound - both the earpiece and the speaker. I discovered that cut & paste of the CVS file does not work, but using tcmdpocketarm's "Move/Copy" utility does work with the "overwrite" command. Recovered sound by restoring the original audioparam.csv file.

right, you didnt check your ROM version, you have 2.xx, not 3.xx like my post states. There is a version for 2.xx floating around as well. If you cant find it I'll post it up when I can.

I''ll assume by your plea, that you didn't back up the original .csv file.. I should also assume that you have indeed upgraded to the newer 3xx ROM?
that being the case, here it is.
just rename to audiopara.csv, and place in windows directory. needs to overwrite the one that is in there now.. you'll need Resco File Explorer, to do this..

Well I already removed the audiopara file, I also went back and tried to put the original audiopara file on, and it still didn't work. So if I install this new one you posted here, will it work then????

Seriously I'm not that up to speed when it comes to this. Is there anyway you break this down a litttle more Barney style?

well, the audiopara.csv in this topic if only good for the 3xx roms..
what are all the numbers on your bootup screen, when you first turn on your phone (bottom right, in red..)
if it's 3xxxsomthing, then yes, the is the file you need.. you have to place it in the windows directory, but using the regular File Explorer from microsoft will not work..
you'll need to download either 'Total Commander' or (my choice) 'Resco File Explorer'.. these are more full featured file managers that will allow you to overwrite this audiopara file onto your ROM..

if your radio version on your bootup screen is 2xxxsomething....then you can NOT use this audiopara.csv file.. you need the one for the 2xxx roms..
so first, check your rom flavor, and post back.

Okay I realized that I am running ROM 2.17xxxxx. I figured since I just purchased my mogul I'd have the latest ROM. Yes I understand that was stupid now. So what do I do to fix what I've done, so I can get my sound back. I am seconds away from just taking it to the Sprint store, but honestly, I have more faith in you guys here on the site for help. Thanks Again to all trying to help out on this issue. I just want my sound back.

here is the 2xxx version of Audiopara for you.. it's the 'coarse' version. meaning it's already tweaked very nicely for some increased ear and speaker volume..
rename to audiopara.csv, and place in Windows directory..
post back your results!

Thanks guys for everything, but I already took it in to the Sprint repair shop, and they ordered me a new one, will probably be here on Cinco de Mayo. I would do what you guys say, but I had them turn my Treo back on until it comes in, and let me tell you I loved this phone before I got my Mogul, I even thought about taking it back cause I was so use to the Treo, I'm glad I didn't though, cause the Treo doesn't even compare. The internet is super slow compared to my Mogul. Thanks Again Guys.

By the way, I was so scared they were going to figure out I was messing with the phone and that they were not gonna honor my ins. But the tech was like wow I have never seen that before, and within 2 minutes, he was like, Sir I'm sorry we are going to have to order you another one. I was like um ok. LOL......

Nickles,

I made the same error by adding a 3.xx ROM AudioPara hack to my 2.xx ROM. I copied the 2.xx file you posted in this thread, I renamed it as suggested and it is on my phone, and is in Windows but it shows up as a Word file under Windows. What did I do wrong? If you can help bail me outta this one I would really appreciate it!

Thanks!

Trying to revert to the original audiopara file and it doesn't fix your issue? All you do is rename the audiopara.csv file (I use Resco Explorer). Rename it to audiopara.csv.old (or whatever) and soft reset.

Maybe it's just me but I only notice a slight difference in the earpiece volume during a phone call. I'm trying to amplify the system sounds and ringer with no luck. I've tried this custom audiopara.csv file AND nueaudio with no luck. Any help guys? TIA!

Scrufdog, Have you gotten the bluetooth headset volume louder yet?

I too would be very interested in increasing the bluetooth volume as I am trying to use a speakerphone in the car instead of an earpiece.

Thanks Scrufdog for the excellent CAB, speaker vol is much better!

Re: Audiopara.csv for 3.16 ROM, here you go...

OK I am a dumb arse and am not sure what went wrong. I have the xv6800 verizon. I just got the phone and the vol is low (go figure), ergo I am here. I installed the AudioPara. I extracted the file, then renamed the file in vista AudioPara.csv. I then synced the phone dragged the file over, double clicked it and it installed, the phone restarted. NO volume nada nothing zip. DOA. So I went and installed the OriginaAudioProfile same procedure as above, nada nothing zip.

1) Not sure what rom I have it says at boot up starting on the left in red: M.09; then below that: B03; then to the right starting at the top: (D)2.09 then (R)1.30.60 then ( P) .7070 and thats it.

2) I assumed a few things but incorrectly.

3) What is a soft reset? is that when you simply turn the device off and then on? or is it when you erase memory?

4) How can I fix this slug?

I really just want my I760 back. I am not liking this phone much the email sync crap is crap, the volume sucks all my callers say I sound like crap, the damn thing stays on the net when it checks email...either with pocket outlook or windows live hotmail which is what I am using now...the damn blinking light...have to toggle the modem off.....man I can go on.

Anyways this is my main internet portal. So I would really appreciate it if somebody could give me some reason to keep this thing. I might live with it if I could hear and try to work around the email sync stuff. What do I need to do get the audio back please? Thank you in advance

Re: Audiopara.csv for 3.16 ROM, here you go...

Hmm it seems that desperation is the mother of invention. I pretty much fixed it by experimentation.

1) Did a hard reset, phone works now.

2) Googled xv6800 low volume, I came across a site that had the upgrade to windows 6.1.....hmmm tough one to find after much surfing...did not find it here and microsnot certainly makes it painful, couldn't find it there. So I d/l the file, flashed the rom and bingo. 6.1 new gui interesting. Volume is up!
I have the 6.1 upgrade if anybody wants it.
I now know that I had rom 2.09, I now have 3.27.4.3. This I do know. So I am wondering if the volume can be jacked up still? Thanx

ERMMM

Call me thick but I did as the instructions said after I checked my ROM and moved it and ran the install and restarted it. Nothing on the volume changed at all.

Have I missed something? (yes, I am a bit of a newbie at this)
