Have downloaded: Chem's new 6.1 ROM, OliPro unlocker, RUU.

My issues:

I've been told I first need to upgrade my radio first by installing the leaked 3.xx GPS ROM..so I go to that page and says something about how firstly I need a titan_backup_app deal so I don't brick my phone..I'm getting a run-around and am so lost lol.

In the hopes that this following help will help the other virgin-flashers out there, could anyone offer a quick, n00b-safe explanation for me? Thanks a bunch and I appreciate all Chem's hard work.

1. Run Relocker
2. Flash 3.16 leaked rom
3. Run olipro 2.40 unlocker
4. Update to my rom using RUU

Verizon ROM based on the 5024 release. Same changes as the 5023. Now I'm going to start including my own stuff. :)

I dont know if anyone tried but the gmail thing is easy to fix

type in your user name wrong... like user@gmil.com

enter all settings
go back to options
change user to user@gmail.com....
skip through all the menus and your done

I got IMAP gmail to work. Just put your address as "username@gmool.com" then hit next. It won't have any preset settings, so it will ask you. Just enter user data as you would for the regular IMAP gmail setup. It worked for me.

The contacts bug that I posted earlier is only in this rom afaik. It might also be in other wm6.1 roms but it is not in the 3.16 rom that was leaked.

Okay good, after tons of tweaking, installing xp usb drivers in vista, and using the mtty utility then the uni_titanextbootloader or whatever, it's finally booted up and confirmed it's 6.1!

Yeah, txting works for me. I dont know if i like the way M$ did the threaded. I'm used to the PALM SMS so I installed that instead. Testing now. Seems to work good. I'm on 5025.

well i got my gps to work. just left it outside for about a half hour with google maps open and it finally got a signal.

Im using this on alltel and was wondering how i would go about getting Arcsoft MMS or something similar to handle MMS? Is there a cab some where to download, because i cant seem to find one....

Threaded SMS (Palm) take over the Messaging which does both TEXT and EMAIL. Have to remove it in order to setup email. Bummer!

Its official. ALL of my memory issues are gone with this ROM.

While it *SAYS* it has 1 or 2MB free, I can still run Live Search (with GPS), Opera with two tabs, Word editing a document, and I can still send text messages AND use the camera.

Apparently my texting problem was due to my full SPB backup restore I did after flashing this rom. Perhaps it was the threaded sms that was messing up my texts.... because I was on the phone with Sprint for 15 mins while the rep tried everything thing he could, and he said everything looks normal anyhow. So I said I'd call back later when I get another phone to call with, then hard reset. Texting works fine :)

yes, old programs that restore text messages wont work because of the new poom format for threading

I've flashed the 2.40 Bootloader, along with no2chem's rom, but I can no longer get an activesync connection in order to flash the 3.27 radio. My phone won't boot past the HTC Smart Mobility screen. Any suggestions, or did I just make a new paperweight?

hmm,

here are the steps you'll need to take.

1. enter bootloader mode (power + camera button, press soft reset button)
2. try flashing 3.16.
3. if 3.16 won't flash, you'll probably need to flash some 2.xx rom, and relock, and try flashing 3.16 again.
4. flash nueROM 2.0

First thanks for all you work No2Chem, is incredible. Well I install your first release and has the issue with the media files and the purpleplayer but I was able to use the iGO 8.0 with the AstroGPSLauncher, you make a new release with the fi for the media since this iGO doesn't work anymore just close in the first step in the initialization process this happen using the launcher or not...My question is did you change anything else than the purpleplayer issue?....there is a Folder in the FTP named YPACUBA_GPS_Client with this iGO beta version with some of the USA maps is you or somebody need it for testing matters. One more time thanks for you hard and incredible work.....

How to use Basekit?
 

hey no2chem...thanks for yet another update. I have a question though and maybe you or anyone else for that matter can answer. And I know you guys are gonna' tell me to read the forums but I just need to know which one.

Well, I wanna use the Basekit with either DCD's or Dogguy's kitchen. Now how exactly do I do that?? What I did was simply throw the "SYS" and "OEM" folder from the basekit into DCD's kitchen...and figured out that, that's obviously not the way. All the selectable options were gone from BuildOS. (DON'T LAUGH) :)

Okay so just point me towards the right forum I need to read (I read the 6700 how to's and they're too complicated..I think with the basekit available, it should be a little easier)...or if its something simple then, just write the directions here. Thanks a bunch!!

there should be no selectable options in buildOS, you have to add your own packages (the few hacks I add are available in the packages dir). Basically you aren't allowed to select anything for the base because you have to have it! what you're doing is right.

ive never used igo before, BUT i read over at xda that other people are having trouble running it on hermes and 6.1 . I wonder why it worked on the older version, perhaps it needs something I removed...?

no2chem, do you know of anyway to change to dialer to the HTC Touch? I when I install the original cab, the bottom four buttons are messed up along with the voicemail button.
