nope, i did a soft reset right after it came off the charger, closed out activesync and it sat there. I havnt even used wifi since putting this rom on.

I think Ill leave it on until friday to see if there are any more weird things going on ( just to compare with the final once it comes out ), then go back to 2.17/ 1.4 radio until final.

I am using custom rom w/ the new radio. The battery life looks reasonable to me since it got many power saving hacks at the wm6 end.

I have had no problems with Verizon or the xv6800. I am using the DCD rom. Not a hiccup since Monday and I would say the best since I got this phone!

Fix for my irreg. download connectivity/speeds

I found that after updating my PRL to 60611 the intermittent/dropped connections stopped...but..3.16 still crashed and was horribly responsive and laggy. Running 2.17 /1.47 and everythings back to speedy normal. I contemplated DCD's rom but... it seemed like it was too stripped down for the features I wanted to use (I need office ) How does everyone who uses DCD restore all of those applications that "came with" the phone?

3.16 impressions

Pros: Improved volume, improved BT audio quality

Cons:
1. Wipes out MDN, MSID and Power Vision settings (happened to me) and apparently (per other posts) sometimes wipes out Akey settings.

2. Client-side initiated IOTA does not seem to function at all (Settings > Phone > Services tab > Internet > Get Settings > Start). No actions took place, IOTA services did not initiate. I had to resort to forcing a server-side initiated IOTA by changing my Power Vision password thru the SprintPCS.com website.

3. Data connections seem to drop. In the past, I could stream radio stations all day long with no interruptions at all, barring the occasional loss of cell tower signal. With 3.16, I experience a loss of data connection at least once an hour. I'm using Schap's Advanced Config utility, ver 1.1, and have set the connection to "keep alive" all the time, but it's not working obviously. One observation that I have (and will have to test later) is that it appears that the loss of connection may coincide with my scheduled mail downloads, as it frequently happens right after I . I think it's possible that when Pocket Outlook performs a scheduled mail check, upon completion it is closing not only the connection to the mail server, but also the data connection. I went into Pocket Outlook and changed my default network connection from "Internet" to "Sprint" just a little while ago, and I'm waiting to see if this has any effect. <Edit to add:> Looks like I had the "GPRS/3G Disconnect Timer" box checked. Changed, will see what happens.

4. Bluetooth: I have a Plantronics 320 headset, which has always worked flawlessly with every other phone I've paired it with in the past (albeit with less than stellar audio quality). With the 3.16 rom, I can use the headset on outgoing calls, but when I attempt to answer an incoming call (from the headset button or from the handset) the call is routed to the handset.

Overall, I'm mostly happy with 3.16, but if the official upgrade rom (whenever it comes out) fixes the data and BT problems and improves the memory handling I'll be much happier.

Someone posted about synching problems with Vista. That's a Vista & WM6 problem that will not seem to go away. They have issued a update for both, but still having problems. I haven't installed the new ROM yet, but I always had that problem with all the WM6 ROMS. I usually have to unplug my and replug my phone about 3x before it picks up and it usually plugged up for about 5min before Vista regonizes it.

orange notification blinking LED wont go off without a soft reset, usually.

sometimes after the GPS is 'deactivated' (closed gps program) the phone will freeze.

Screen wont turn off when the phone is plugged in, just dims, but the light stays on dimly, used to turn off in the old ROM.

GPS reciever seems weak. Dont know thats something that can be adjusted or not. My external reciever gets at least 4 satelites inside my house, Mogul only sees any if its in a winow or outside. And even then it doesnt see as many as my external sees.

I upgraded to the new ROM on my Sprint Mogul, left it on for a day, and then went back to 2.17.
Here are the problems I had with the new ROM:
1. No Verizon data roaming as others have noted. Phone would get great speeds on EVDO, but I was not able to get any data while roaming on Verizon. As soon as the phone switched from EVDO to 1x, data was completely gone. As I use this on the metro in DC where there is only Verizon, this is a major problem.
2. Slowed my phone down dramatically. Compaired to 2.17, the new ROM ran very slow. An example is in the ##DEBUG# screen. In the new ROM, I was able to see the scan line on the screen as it updated the data. In 2.17, no scan lines are present.
3. Periodic device lockups. Don't know why it would do it, but in the day I ran the new ROM, I probably had to soft reset the device more than I had to the whole month I was running 2.17.
4. GPS only worked once for me, with 4 tries. I only got it to work the first night I loaded the new ROM. After that, Google Maps would say "Searching for Satellites" but would never find any. I gave it what should be more than enough time to get some satellites while outside in clear skies.

The strange thing though, after I going back to the 2.17 ROM, I still have no data while roaming on Verizon. I get data on Sprints EVDO just fine, but as soon as it goes roaming and to 1x, all data dies. I updated to PRL 60611, but that didn't fix the problem. Anyone know of a fix or possible cause for this?

I loaded the 3.16 package as it was leaked, with no registry hacks or theme customizations.

The GPS got its first fix within seconds after I set it up in iGuidance, and worked very well. However, the next day and subsequently it would take a long time to get a fix and then drop it quickly, making it not usable.

Internet browsing was frustrating, as PIE would load most of a page then just stop with the progress bar somewhere around 80% or so. Several times I let it sit and as many as 30 minutes later it was still at the same point.

On the plus side: incoming calls and notifications woke the phone up every time, even when charging; and syncing was a delight through WMDC to a Vista desktop, it was blazingly fast and did not lag up the Mogul during sync like on previous ROM releases.

I reloaded 2.17 due to the Internet browsing issue.
