If I was a betting man, I'd say you had either GPS or wi-fi going before you put the phone down.

GPS will suck the life out of your battery if it doesn't have a clear line-of-sight to the sats.

nope, i did a soft reset right after it came off the charger, closed out activesync and it sat there. I havnt even used wifi since putting this rom on.

I think Ill leave it on until friday to see if there are any more weird things going on ( just to compare with the final once it comes out ), then go back to 2.17/ 1.4 radio until final.

I am using custom rom w/ the new radio. The battery life looks reasonable to me since it got many power saving hacks at the wm6 end.

I've had a couple of lockups over the days, I think if you exit out of a GPS application and go to sleep mode too fast, it locks up.

Someone posted about synching problems with Vista. That's a Vista & WM6 problem that will not seem to go away. They have issued a update for both, but still having problems. I haven't installed the new ROM yet, but I always had that problem with all the WM6 ROMS. I usually have to unplug my and replug my phone about 3x before it picks up and it usually plugged up for about 5min before Vista regonizes it.

3.16 impressions

Pros: Improved volume, improved BT audio quality

Cons:
1. Wipes out MDN, MSID and Power Vision settings (happened to me) and apparently (per other posts) sometimes wipes out Akey settings.

2. Client-side initiated IOTA does not seem to function at all (Settings > Phone > Services tab > Internet > Get Settings > Start). No actions took place, IOTA services did not initiate. I had to resort to forcing a server-side initiated IOTA by changing my Power Vision password thru the SprintPCS.com website.

3. Data connections seem to drop. In the past, I could stream radio stations all day long with no interruptions at all, barring the occasional loss of cell tower signal. With 3.16, I experience a loss of data connection at least once an hour. I'm using Schap's Advanced Config utility, ver 1.1, and have set the connection to "keep alive" all the time, but it's not working obviously. One observation that I have (and will have to test later) is that it appears that the loss of connection may coincide with my scheduled mail downloads, as it frequently happens right after I . I think it's possible that when Pocket Outlook performs a scheduled mail check, upon completion it is closing not only the connection to the mail server, but also the data connection. I went into Pocket Outlook and changed my default network connection from "Internet" to "Sprint" just a little while ago, and I'm waiting to see if this has any effect. <Edit to add:> Looks like I had the "GPRS/3G Disconnect Timer" box checked. Changed, will see what happens.

4. Bluetooth: I have a Plantronics 320 headset, which has always worked flawlessly with every other phone I've paired it with in the past (albeit with less than stellar audio quality). With the 3.16 rom, I can use the headset on outgoing calls, but when I attempt to answer an incoming call (from the headset button or from the handset) the call is routed to the handset.

Overall, I'm mostly happy with 3.16, but if the official upgrade rom (whenever it comes out) fixes the data and BT problems and improves the memory handling I'll be much happier.
