Well, I just completed it and did some testing, including a "keynote", and there is no performance difference. Same qualtiy calls, same wifi, but most disappointingly, same EVDO speed. Not Rev.A....:(

this was from xda i am noticing the same speed increase

"Phone- Sound is excellent. Fixes problem of not being able to answer phone after 1.40 radio install.

Bluetooth- works fine.

Wifi- works fine, although the hard button on the side of the device no longer works. Connect/disconnect through comm manager is fine. May try another hard reset to see if this is fixable. A small sacrifice vs. the increase in EVDO speed.

Evdo speed 868kbps. This is a 33% increase over prior. Getting an extra bar in most locations."

I have updated the radio on my 6700, but this will be my first time on my 6800 and I want to be sure I do it right. My 6800 is unlocked and I have an RUU for radio 1.40 with ruu_signed.nbh in it.

Do I rename titan_2.13_CDMA.nbh to ruu_signed.nbh and replace the one in the 1.40 directory or can I move the original nbh and copy titan_2.13_CDMA.nbh to the directory, and the RUU will use it based on the nbh extension?

Also, on the 6700, only a soft reset was needed after the install. Is that the same on the 6800 or is a hard reset really needed?

no need to do rename the file, and when upgrading it will reset your device, you will loose everything so backup everything that you want to keep.

As long as you only have one .nbh file in the RUU directory, it will auto-load any filename with the .nbh extension. I don't know what it does if you have multiple .nbh files in the directory.

The hard reset happens automatically after upgrading the radio. I don't think there's any way to prevent it.

Edit: working now, just downloaded the wrong ROM.

Has anyone tried OZ Messenger with the new radio????

Updated on VZW 6800 but no difference notice for me!! :(

I think it's all YMMV on coverage areas.

No changes here. EVDO still works on the cellular band here. Voice still works fine on PCS band.
