the problem is that the "pretty" smartdial dll and the cdma phone dll do not mix. smartdialing works, but the "contacts" softkey is missing when in the phone app.

the vogue dialer i posted earlier is affected by this as well.

the cdma version of the touch-themed dialer works well with the uglier smartdialing dll

Hey Sampson, nice work. I should probably add this to my Flashing Totorial sticky, but I haven't been able to keep up with all the new stuff people are releasing. Glad to see there are more options available every day!

This is something of a debatable issue. That's the way many of us used to think, however there is reason to beleive that there IS a big difference as far as memory usage.

Basically, stuff installed afterwards seems to leave less memory available than stuff pre-loaded in the ROM.

A bunch of us have been testing some theories, but it most likely has something to do with the system cache and priority threading of the OS; Code contained in the ROM has priority over installed applications, and may run in designated memory spaces.

Obviously, if you're creating a "clean" rom, you want to leave out unnecessary things. However, if its something that a majority of people DO use, I'd recommend leaving it in. Either way, you should at least know that it makes a difference.

Thanks for the quick reply, although IOTA was provisioned in my previous install and I couldn't find the option for it on this ROM. Well I just copied the executables for it over to my memory card, so when the current sprint rom crashes, which is probably a matter of days I'll try yours again and if I have the same problem I'll just try and provision the internet with those.

How is the battery life? Last time I tried WM5 ROM on my Mogul, I got horrible battery life and had to switch back to WM6. I like WM5 over WM6 for stability, and will love to load this ROM if someone confirms no ill effects on the battery life. Thanks.

Internet Sharing

I Cannot get the mogul to give out an ip address using the internet sharing app included in the updated rom. It shows a connected status on the phone but the pc just stays there looking for a dhcp address. Any ideas?

Hi Sampson! I was just wondering. Did you happen to leave out java? I know not a lot of WM5 or atleast people I know didn't have java on their WM5. WM6 happened to have this and I don't want to miss the Operamini, I like using operamini other than IE. Just wondering if you included java on your rom, if not is there a cab file to install java.

Also for people who are reading this thread and confused on what to do there was a TitanUnlocker for Dummies instruction. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...=titanunlocker. Its very helpful. I read just now and I'm at it. I'm going to use Sampson's rom. I really like WM5's performance, less stress for me.

**EDIT**
By the way would you mind telling us what exactly is in this rom? give us a little briefing of what it includes. I know its say clean rom but does it really mean wiped out of whatever microsoft made? just give us a list of what it has. Thanks.

I have had the rom installed & running for about 10 hours now on a fresh charge, and it is still showing 80%! I haven't made any calls or anything, but I normally have to charge my mogul at least every 16 hours.
