Thinking of abandoning 2.2

i updated to 2.2 on my phone and i immidiately had landscape issues. it stays in landscape all the time and most times i have to push the home button to get it back which is bad becasue then the screen i was on is gone. i was sent a brand new phone 3 days ago updated to 2.2 and had the same problems right away i have done the callibration. has anyone else experienced this? also i use chompsms and no matter what ib=ve done i am still notified twice with the stock text as well even though i have turned off all alerts. has any 2.2 cooked roms fixed these problems or am i the only one having them in the first place. sorry for this 800 word post

What version of 2.2 are you using dk28,eb13,eco5?
You should also try a custom rom

Re: Thinking of abandoning 2.2

I had issue up until I calibrated..make sure the phone is on a level platform.

As for SMS, I was able to disable notifications just fine..I repeat masus question are you on EB13 or EC05..cause both are stock...just EC05 is newer stock....

Did you try a hard reset?

then I would assume its EC05..you can check by going to settings->about phone->baseband version

Try a hard reset then recalibrate on a surface and change the sms and see if that fixes stuff..

Also one option for the landscape issue is to just to disable lanscape view unless you pull out the kb...

Re: Thinking of abandoning 2.2

gTen is absolutely right,
Rooting this phone takes more research than others.

You can have problems if you dont have the right version of a stock rom when you update to EXT4 ( I had to finally use EB13). Have the right modem that the rom wants, & many other things,

How do we know if we have a rom with journaling? I am using Bonsai 4.0.0.1, FYI

Thx All,
Force

Rooting itself is fairly simple, its just custom roms where you gotta learn things like EXT4 and journaling and etc...

Well CWM3 automatically formats your phone for EXT4 no journaling...so if a rom says its EXT4 but does not claim to have journaling on...assume journaling is off...
