How to keeps data after flashing a rom?

Is there way to flash to a new rom with out losing data such text messages and installed apps. I flash to a new rom but don't won't to install all my apps over again.

you can use many tools from clockwork to backup/restore to TitaniumBackup (make sure to hit "problems?" button to load custom busy box) to MyBackup
