Wirelessly posted (Samsung Epic : Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-us; SPH-D700 Build/ECLAIR) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17)

ive read of ppl having issues with their epics shutting off mysteriously ... well it happened now and again for me but it was so rare it didnt matter . . . today it happened 6 times .. a few times it was when i slid my kb shut . . the others im not sure .. point is when i would reboot the phone the battery would go from a decent charge to a sliver of the meter left . . . any idea of frequent power offs & or y the battery gets sucked to nothing when rebooting ?

What configuration are you running on your phone (rom, kernel, stuff like that)?

Re: epic shutting off

My epic was also shutting off when I closed the keyboard. I thought I had a bad kb so decided to take it to the sprint store for replacement. To prepare the phone for return I replaced the 3500 battery I bought on Ebay with the samsung battery. I then noticed that the phone had stopped shutting off. Apparently the Ebay battery did not have a snug fit when placed in the phone so everytime I close the kb it moved away from the phone's battery contacts. This may be your problem. Are you using the battery that came with the phone?
