Official EB13 Problems Updating/How to Update Thread

This thread is to post for those having problems updating to EB13..

There will most likely be 4 methods to flash..

1) OTA - for those lucky to get it first

2) Update.zip - Once we ninja the link from the Google servers..it is effectively same as OTA but you do it manually..

Update.zip Download: http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/co...858/update.zip
Update.zip MD5: 76a72a646093adc3579e27e9733dd5ff

3) Upgrade Tool - Released by Samsung to upgrade.

Tool Download: http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/co..._EB13_Tool.exe

4) Odin - Once the tar is released (requires a PC)

Note: Chances are root will break..

To use Method 1 and 2 you will need to be STOCK DI18 with no apps removed.

Those that are on DK28 you will have to flash back to DI18 via Odin..

If you have any issues feel free to post here and I and other members will try to assist you!

PLEASE BACK UP YOU DATA BEFORE UPGRADING!!!!! - Your data should not be lost unless you use Odin, but I can't stress this enough...cause if for some 0.0001% reason something does go wrong..your data will still be safe...

Odin can be used to flash back to DI18 no matter what you are running.

So in other words......yes.

Re: Official EB13 Problems Updating/How to Update Thread

I was told that using the Samsung update tool will behave like a hard reset, and I will lose my apps, photos, settings, etc... while waiting to get the update OTA will not end up in loss of the aforementioned stuff. Can anyone confirm or deny these claims?

I can confirm.

You don't have to wait though, you can go grab an update.zip and reboot into recovery(hold camera, power and vol down until it goes to stock recovery) and allow it to flash the update.zip

You can find it here:

Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Place it on the root of your sdcard.
