Official EB13 Bugs/Fixes Thread
 
Once you have EB13 up and running, post what bugs you found, what was fixed, and what is still broken. If you have a solution to fix some of the bugs you can spot that as well..

(It will be used as a reference for the wiki as well)

This is not a thread to post about having issues updating to EB13!


MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EB13..some got EB01 instead...

so far..I have found:

GPS seems to work well for now...
KB seems a lot better too!
much more stable the dk28

how is everyone else doing?

damn it now MMS wont work after this new update.. and yes i edited the MMSc link from mms.sprintpcs.com to the boost mobile one mm.myboostmobile.com just like i did on the stock rom. and it keeps giving me an error..(MMS Transaction is failed HTTP Error 403 Forbidden ) do i have to change any other setting or what? i even did a PRL and profile update and still same crap.... and i do see the 3G on top and internet works. wich indicates it should be working fine. but no MMS.. other then that nice update few new features. if anyone can help me please let me know thanks..

WARNING - Android Market has some major problems after upgrading to Froyo. At least for me, it didn't list all of my applications after the upgrade. I was able to download most of them by going to the Android Market website and asking the website to reinstall the apps. But there are a few apps (unfortunately, the paid apps) that won't download - and those apps don't show up when doing a search for the apps from my Epic - almost like the Epic with Froyo is not a supported platform for some of the apps yet...

Which apps in particular? I heard sprint did block some apps like nytimes app and etc..

Ok im not sure if this is a bug or Maybe im just missing a setting, but My phone doesnt vibrate anymore when i get a text while im on the phone

in settings>sounds>general I have vibrate set to always
and in messaging>setting>notification settings I have vibrate checked


am i missing a different setting :scratch:

go to the Text Message app, then click menu button, then settings..

under notifications there is Vibrate

Any changelog information on the texting bug? I thought that Google said that it was fixed in Gingerbread but didn't know if Samsung changed the default texting app so that your phone wouldn't send that naughty text that was meant for the misses to dear old mom...

I've had the update early this morning, later in the evening the browser became horribly slow. Also while scrolling and using pinch to zoom there's a massive checkerboading effect. I have used every known custom rom leading up to this release (eb13) and none have preformed this horrible. Ill also note a tremendous lag while typing on the key pad. If I Can't resolve the known issues ill revert back to the custom roms. Will post again if other bugs surface.

any ideas why MMS doesnt work after this update? this is the error MMS Transaction is failed HTTP Error 403 Forbidden ) if not ill have no other choice then i guess i have to reroot this phone and go back to stock eclair or what ever works. i dont know why this upgrades they to messed up the phone if the phone was already rooted why make it go back to stock without root. thats so gay.. i didnt rooted this damn phone the people where i purchased from they did it.. now i need help on how to reroot this thing if i cant find a solution on this MMS issue...

Hmmm. that's not my experience. After a reboot the Time Without Signal climbed well past 50% in the first few minutes. Toggling airplane mode made it slowly drop to below 10%.
I installed EB13 yesterday via the Samsung web site and the Windows installer.

camera button and or app doesnt seem to be working i cant even open it up it just vibrates and something pops up real quick and nothing

contacted sprint with the echat option on my online account the lady refreshed my phone turned it off then on again and my camera problem went away :headbang: so try calling sprint and have them refresh your phone

I would bet you lost your Boost mobile settings.

downloaded update and installed via windows 7 64bit, had issues with no camera, no ringer, and no notification sounds. Could not acess sounds for these functions via settings, echat to sprint, refresh device, all items work normally now

Went to the Sprint forums looking for help and saw a link to this thread so I thought I would register so I could post.

Got the update last night about 4AM, have been fighting with my phone ever since. Nothing seems to work right anymore. It's almost like it loaded a virus along with the update.

It keeps buzzing at me telling me I need to update security settings, then it wants me to activate email device administrator. First thing it tells me is doing this will allow email to "delete all data and - perform factory reset, deleting all data without confirmation". REALLY? I'm not a geek, so maybe I'm misunderstanding but that just doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

In the meantime it says my gmail password has changed (I didn't change it and it works just fine on my laptop), added a weird scrolling subject line to my email, and removed the email delete key, my landscape screen no longer works unless I slide the keyboard open, and the internet keeps timing out and the whole thing freezes up. Just to name a few of the issues I have been dealing with today. Wish I knew how to undo the update!

Like I said I am not a geek so I haven't changed anything other than add a few apps so I didn't expect it to give me all these problems.

Hope everyone else has better luck than I have!

the problems came back on my phone so i just did a factory reset by going into my settings and all the problems have gone away so far no i can use my camera and get access to sounds for ring tones and notifications

nah. its all fixed now. big thanks to MASETAS for the help. it was some hidden menu called APN that i had to edit some MMS proxy and that was a easy fix.. Thanks to MASETAS.. and thanks to all you guys for the concern as well.. Take care and MASETAS keep up the good work..

As promised if more bugs began to surface AND THEY DID i would share with all via a post. Turns out EB13 is like a roach motel with no vacancies just FULL OF BUGS. Where to begin? 1st bug to appear was the accelorometer it began freezing in landscape mode for minutes at a time. 2nd was wifi would not connect in fact all icons in the drop down menu would not work except gps. Lastly, while trying to adress the above issues the home button quit responding, when tapped there was a slight vibration but no action AND YES haptic feedback was disabled in settings menu. So unfotunatly eb13 has been a nightmare for me. I threw in the towel and headed back to a custom rom. Hope all goes better for other epic users.

so far so good for me..have you checked to make sure you got EB13 and not EB01? and have you tried a factory reset? and for accelometer..if you used odin you gotta recalibrate it...

but instead of resending the data to all the network elements in the sprint network like in a reprovision, refresh jus sends that particular system info from the billing system to ur fone

the annoying checkerboard effect when scrolling is driving me nuts .. scrolling in the stock browser is so so so slow. to the point I wanna toss this cross the room. physcal keyboard input is laggy as hell when it does register & obviously the input issue that plagues thse phones isn't fixed as promised. I have the stock sms notification off but it still comes up. overall the phone isn't as snappy

Try installing the modified i9000 browser found in the hulu thread. Been using it for months, no checkerboarding!

I'm still on dk28 with OC kernel, running as smooth as butter!

I have checker-boarding but its not that bad...did you use the update.zip method? if so did you try a factory reset?
