Re: How to sign a Framework-res.apk after change

Actually the easiest way to edit files within APK files is to open the APK file with WinRar or 7Zip. Then copy the files out that you want, make the edits, and then copy them back into the APK. This saves you from the time it takes to re-sign an APK.

I do it all the time with files in the Android kitchen to change the notification bars, taskbars, etc. It is fast and easy, let's you make whatever changes you want, and leaves the APK file signed.

I didn't think winrar would work since it seems to always want to compress the files. I need to update my custom Launcher Pro to the newest version so I'll try it out tonight.

Absolutely works great. I copy the files out, modify them and then drag and drop them back into the WinRar window with the APK file open and it is all good.

Shouldn't you be able to extract the apk with 7zip, modify the files and copy them back into the zip?

Re: How to sign a Framework-res.apk after change

as I wrote in this thread that thegas android 2.2 in which we check if the file Framework-res.apk on SHA1. System files can not simply change WinRAR. I was able to decrypt the certificate pkcs7. But I do not know how to create certificates for calculating SHA1.

Sounds like you are trying to work on a theme. If that's the case I'm not sure why you can't just make the changes and sign it via apk manager. I've tried what rainfreak suggested without success so far.

I guess I'm just not sure exactly what you are trying to do. I've made changes plenty of apk's with apk manager with little to no trouble.
