Re: tethering and taking on the phone

Wait a second.....

Can ACTUAL Epic owners clarify:

#1. You CAN use 4G data SIMULTANEOUSLY with 3G voice&text.

#2. You CAN use BOTH 3G data AND 3G voice&text SIMULTANEOUSLY.

Is it BOTH #1 and #2, or ONLY #1 and NOT #2 ?????

Thank you.

Well the way you wrote it is tricky....

voice and text messages on CDMA travel over 1x...so only way to do 3g voice is voip..which would make #2 possible..but I dont think thats what you are talking about...

You can use 4g for data and 1x for voice/texts at the same time...

you cannot use 3g for data and 1x for voice/texts at the same time..

That's about correct. +1 lol

but even if you do voice over 3G (#2) the voice quality is garbled and worst on CDMA compared to GSM. On CDMA you can get a couple of loss data or increased latency if you're receiving text messages at the same time possibly disconnecting you from the voip call. With GSM... there's little latency but enough not notice any delay and the calls are crystal clear from experience.

This is true if you're on GSM network because they handle voice and data separately. But Sprint on CDMA handles EVERYTHING ON DATA... look it up guys! Simple google cdma and gsm and educate yourselves..
