Will updating make me lose my data or contacts? What if I do it the Odin way? I'm getting the assert failed error too.

I'm getting invalid hash with Odin. This is irritating.

Updated from fully stock DI18.

Negatives: My GPS is definitely dead like many others have also reported. Every time I turn on the phone, the media card scan comes on and takes quite a while, and the same thing happens when I go into the gallery.

Positives: Touchwiz itself seems smoother and seems to be less subject to random lags. The stock music player is much better. Ditto for stock messaging. Flash works well from my tests. It seems like I gained internal memory.

I hope someone finds a fix for the GPS for us stock users. I would like to keep this update and get it working to as close to 100% as I can get it.

If not, I'll have to go looking around with how to flash it back to stock 2.1 again. http://media.xda-developers.com/imag...lies/frown.gif

I'm debating a factory reset to see if that fixes the issue. Has anyone tried that after updating from stock to see if it fixes the GPS issue?

yup...same thing on mine. also, I cannot set an alarm via the new clock app...it just says ..."process.com.sec.android.clockpackage as stopped unexpectedly"...

however, gps works like a charm and locks fast!

....I suspect that my sd card is not mounted. i just tried to launch video player and it couldn't find the card...and i did read a comment by someone on xda that he thought his card died after update. hmmmm

I am running this Stock Froyo Rom [Stock Flash][Odin]Dk28 Extended 12/05/2010 inc. Root,GPS hack,Clockwork+Redir. - xda-developers the DK17 version, not the latest DK28.

My GPS was dead the first time I flashed it. I flashed back to Stock DK18, and GPS was still dead. ](*,)Flashed the DK17 from that thread again, and now my GPS gets an instant LOCK:headbang:

Not sure why, maybe something got fixed with the multiple wiping? Now I'm hesitant to flash the newer DK28 version in fear of losing GPS again. Plus My Epic is running Flawless!!
