Re: Wine App?

Wine allows you to run windows apps on a Linux PC via a virtual machine.

I used wine with Linux for a while and it came in handy sometimes. Today I found the need to launch a windows app but couldn't and it just made me think about wine.

Update for those who want to know. As of now the answer for wine is no. Long story short...

(Copied and Pasted)Thunderbird: No, it is not possible. The main issue (next that you need a x86 cpu which likely your netbook has) is that Android is not a typical Linux system. The OS uses the Linux kernel but apart from that it uses very different libraries, it doesn't use X and so on.

Re: Wine App?

Yup..ARM architecture is not x86 compatible...in the future when intel releases their cellphone moorestown cpu which is x86 then if cellphone use it that might work..right now your best bet is Remote Desktop....

Here is a proto-type phone playing world of warcraft..lol

Aava Mobile's Intel Moorestown prototype plays World of Warcraft beautifully (video) -- Engadget

Though I have to say, Pocket Legends reminds me of Diablo a bit :/

Re: Wine App?

Not WINE - I'm not sure if anyone has put together a WINE+QEMU solution that lets you run Windows apps on their own on a non-x86 processor, but it might be possible - but there are some reports of PC emulators that will run...

google on "QEMU for Android" (and skip the first couple of references, which are to the use of QEMU to emulate Android on the PC) or "BOCHS for Android" "DOSBOX for Android"
