Sticky Question..? USB to PC Mount

Okay I was searching for a few widget apps that lets me shortcut: Mount/UN-Mount USB to PC... and found a few widget apps just for that but I am NOT sure which ones to get.. According to the app description on Auto Mount You SD Card app (quiet a long name for such widget/app) The dev said is not needed on Galaxy S devices.. According to some reviewers of the app.. one said "why isn't this needed on the samsung epic.. very much needed"

The usb mounting tool was easy to assemble when you plug it into your computer.. A pop up prompts you (usb, tether, mass storage) currently I am tethering with the epic. If I want to mount the usb I have to disconnect then reconnect the usb to use the mounting while also disconnecting and reconnecting tether.. I don't want to disconnect tether especially if you're downloading such large files while you're doing that... Any Solutions...? What would you recommend?

I'm not tethering right now. Let's say I have to download some large 200mb tar file from rapid files or mega upload or etc usually I mount usb first before tethering. But sometimes you forget or you might not need to mount at that time until that moment you need to mount... you're suck at trying to finish a downloading file.

So this is what happened.. I grab me a cup of tea and do something else while I'm waiting by the time it finishes, I pack up and move on... oh shit did I forget to mount and transfer a picture or file? damn. See what I mean..

I forget because the whole thing is about multi tasking..Coming from the Palm Pre user experience... Everything Must Sync with time.

When I'm tethering... there is no mount/unmount option in the notification. not with Froyo DJ29 build...

Are you using USB Tethering? or Wifi tethering? and if so what are you using for it?

Okay I found the answer to my own noob question. Forgive me if I wasted thread space on the server or anyone's time but I am going to explain my findings... I am now using 2.2.1 Froyo Build DJ29

I can tether or use mobile hotspot right out the box.

When I tether via usb, you cannot mount the sdcard to a pc while it's on.

But when you're done with tethering, the sdcard will automatically mount to pc as long as you don't disconnect the usb from the PC. Some PCs may require a reboot while others do not. (after disconnecting and reconnecting the usb, if that didn't work then reboot the pc)

When I tether via MobileAP (hotspot) you can mount the sdcard to pc...

how about it noooobs! lol
