New to Android- Questions about Clockwork/Root and updates

Clockwork for backing-up/restoring
Rooting is to gain access and free wifi-hotspot
Please correct me if I am incorrect in the the statements above-

Froyo update- OTA- will this work after rooting?

Last question- Is there an app for 4g signal strength?

If all you do is root then it "should" work fine..I'm basing it on the fact that it didn't intervene with the previous OTAs..but there is no way of knowing 100% till it comes out.

Last question- Is there an app for 4g signal strength?

Not exactly..but there is a way to improve 4g at the price of battery life :/
