Epic won't update with OTA

I just switched to an Epic this week from a TP2. I loved the phone, but for an unknown reason it will not upgrade from DG27. I tried a hard reset, wentto a Sprint repair center, called tech support and to manually update it several times. When I tried to update it the phone just automatically says that it is up to date and there are no updates available. Has anyone else have this problem? I tried two different Epics already and both had the same problem. I don't want to be stuck with DG27 as it is two versions behind and the media hub doesn't even work on it. I am hoping someone on here has had this same problem or can at least shed some light on this for me.

Re: Epic won't update with OTA

Here you go, rename it to update.zip and flash it via recovery.

Re: Epic won't update with OTA

thanks for the file, but I am concerned that there is a deeper issue with the phone since it won't do any OTA. If I use the DI07 file what are the odds that my Epic will OTA to DI18? For what I paid for the Epic OTA should be working out of the box.

It will get him DI07 installed..once installed we will see then..he says it himself he is fine with updating manually...so if OTA does not work, this iwll udpate it manually.

Edit:

Well you can find out, it wont hurt to update..one thing some people have claimed is they check and there is no update but after going to the market and downloading something an update appears.

Though realistically speaking you will most likely find the update faster on the web then getting an OTA.

I have only done one OTA, and that happened the moment I activated the phone. All the rest I have done by downloading it from this website and installing through recovery. What's the big deal?

And besides, if you're that concerned just take it back to Sprint and exchang it for another one.
