Don't worry--it'll still beat Froyo on the Epic by a landslide...
The new Samsung Continuum that Verizon
JUST released is still sporting the aging Eclair 2.1.
Samsung must be really struggling with their TW3 and other hardware issues, I'm starting to understand why HTC sticks to the same boring, but reliable hardware years after release. They should just lower their prices some, since they don't have to re-invent the wheel ever year and keep using this staler technology. Samsung is using leading edge technology in their phones but don't have the necessary developers to offset the chronic technical issues they have been having.
Despite the fact that I loathe Apple practices, they should take a few pages out of the Apple certification book because these lags and flaws shouldn't/wouldn't fly at any other company.
Sure, HTC made
a bad phone here or there but every single Galaxy S phone worldwide has had something wrong with it and all Samsung is doing is releasing more versions of these defective phones instead of fixing their existing models first.
I still want to get the Epic after 2.2 is released and the forums say that it's running smoothly, but honesty by the time this happens, I wouldn't be surprised that it's January or later now and a few newer and better phones with Gingerbread (possibly) appear by then. If it wasn't for Bluetooth and fragmentation issues, I would have been happy with 2.1...
I really need a new phone!
