Set Text Messaging to Default to Mobile?

So I am coming over from a TP2 and it let me set "mobile", as the default number to send text messages to for all contacts. Is there a way to do this on the Epic? I keep on accidentally sending messages to the first number listed fora contact (work or home), which sprint horribly translates using their text-to-landline system.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.1-update1; en-us; SPH-D700 Build/ECLAIR) AppleWebKit/530.17 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/530.17)

You can set the default phone number by selecting menu on the contact and then choosing Set Default. This will bring up a window whereby you can click a radio button next to the phone number you want to set as the default. Hope that helps!

Re: Set Text Messaging to Default to Mobile?

No dice. I did it again today on a contact I had set the default for as mobile. It still did a freaking txt to voicemail thing to the first number listed (his office). I REALLY wish it would just default to mobile. Although the TP2 never allowing you to send txts to anything other than mobile was annoying, this is even worse!

Re: Set Text Messaging to Default to Mobile?

I was thinking about this this morning. I have a ton of contacts in my phone and would like to have txt msg's default to mobile numbers. The method suggested by the OP works, but you have to do it for each individual contact. For those, like me, who have an insane number of contacts thats just not practicle. There are a lot of devlopers on here, xda and other android forums. I wonder if one of them could write up a script to change all of them at once. Maybe a global contact managment tool or something.
