phone doesn't sleep?

ok guys...my phone is not sleeping, thus my battery life sucks. is there an app that will force my phone to sleep so it doesn't suck up so much juice?

Also, i've noticed my battery life has seriously declined ever since i rooted my phone...anyone else have this problem?

1) Do you use Wifi?

2) Did you try Juice Defender?

I don't turn on wifi except on occassion at work.

I haven't tried juice defender yet, I'll give it a shot...

Actually I've adjusted my settings to reduce brightness, turned off auto-sync, among others tweaks...

Do you have any none-stock apps installed?

Also, are you 100% sure the wifi is off..there is a known bug where wifi does not really turn off. There is an unofficial fix for it I think though.

Yes...I do have non-stock apps installed, but I just uninstalled all of them to make sure that its an app causing my battery issues.

If my battery life is still poor tomorrow, I'm going to hard reset and start from scratch. Ill report back after with my findings. Thx for the pointers guys, but the only thing different on my phone since my battery issues is when I rooted my phone and installed wifi tethering

I think your issue might be the wifi not turning off..since you started wifi-tethering after rooting..just pointing it out as a "possibility"..what do you use to turn off your wifi after tethering?

gTen....can you let me know how i am supposed to turn off my wifi correctly to make sure it's off and how do i verify it's off?

Thanks bro...

After using wifi:

On the home screen go into settings->wireless networks -> turn wifi off, if its not on, turn it on then turn it off again.
