Re: Permanent root and one click root for the Samsung Epic 4g
With the 2.2.4 root I got an OTA update and remained rooted through it..if you have a custom rom/kernal or removed apps then you will have to flash back to stock.

Re: Permanent root and one click root for the Samsung Epic 4g
I simply cannot get the 64 bit drivers to install/work.
After they install, I restart my computer.. When I plug my phone in, after windows tries to apply the drivers, it says failed. I'm getting really frustrated. I have Win7x64 Ultimate. Had a helluva time getting drivers to work properly for my samsung moment.

When plugged in, go into Device Manager and click on the devices with an error next to them and choose to update drivers. Choose to pick them manually/Browse into the extracted zip of the drivers USB Drivers\16_Shrewsbury
It should install manually fine. |

Re: Permanent root and one click root for the Samsung Epic 4g
I had that same problem - even before I'd rooted. Seems to be a common issue with 64-bit Windows 7 systems. I did a LOT of Googling, and one thing I saw over and over was to plug the cable directly into the back of the computer. The other oft-repeated suggestion was to try a better quality cable.
The thing that finally worked for me was to plug it into my hub rather than directly into the computer. Your mileage may vary, but it might be worth a shot. |

Re: Permanent root and one click root for the Samsung Epic 4g
I browsed this thread (quickly) to see if anyone got the following error... I get this whether I try the one click with or without the SD card mounted:
![]() I have tried every USB port on 5 different pcs now, along with 2 cables (the one that came with the phone and the one that I got with a previous phone). All pcs are running Windows 7 64bit. I am using one click v2.2.5. |

Re: Permanent root and one click root for the Samsung Epic 4g
also if you use pdanet dont let it install adb driver when it says"adb driver installed do you want to update driver" decline that keep driver w7 loaded.
