Is it possible to change the launcher in this rom? Thought I'd try LauncherPro, but all I get are FC's. Any ideas?

Sounds like you need to do a factory reset in CWM. I had all sorts of issues when I first loaded it was well, and that did the trick. You should also give Go Launcher Ex a try too!

+1 on Go Launcher. Best launcher hands down. try odin'ing back to eb13 to ensure problem free installation. also if you use TBackup, then only restore app NOT data, you'll encounter less problems

I would really recommend ADW EX I really like that one. Its a paid one but worth it.
