1) What are "quadrant" (?) scores? What is their significance?

3) What version of Android is this? Is TouchWiz included?

Looks like this is FroYo. Why not gingerbread? Not as stable? Hoping TouchWiz is not included...]

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!
1) What are "quadrant" (?) scores? What is their significance? Benchmark scores that are very easy to manipulate. You'll see many people talking quadrant scores getting flamed in the forums. Smartbench is a better app for that.

2) Is there anything that does not work on this ROM? The only thing that is not working is the quickboot redirector, which is so unimportant that I don't include it when I do the "BYOR" rom.

3) What version of Android is this? Is TouchWiz included? This is built from the official EB13 Froyo build. No TouchWiz included.

This rom is about the closest thing you will find to a Winmo kitchen we have for the Epic. Plus ptfdmedic really listens to his users and tried to use their input when he is releasing new versions of the rom. (Plus he has the best beta test team there is )

Gingerbread should come in time, but unlike with winmo, there is just only so much you can do without the source code from an official release.

Re: [ROM] midNIGHT ROM v4.0 (BYOR Edition) 2/24/2011

Thanks for the response.

How does this ROM compare with stock using Smartbench?

I was under the impression the stock ROM supported Sprint's Visual Voicemail. Does that also accessible from the ROM?

And... (stupid question)... what is BYOR? Bring your own... rom? Doesn't seem like any additional files/images are needed to install from the instructions.

Does midNIGHT ROM v4.1 UPGRADE replace midNIGHT ROM v4.0 Standard Edition UPGRADE? Or are both suppose to be installed?

Appreciate all the info, thanks in advance!

Myself, I don't care that much about benchmarks. I've run quadrant in the past, but smartbench is a paid app, so not going to bother. Anyway, it's the user experience that matters most.

Yes, you can use visual voicemail with this rom.

The BYOR or "build your own rom" is nice if you want to add just the features you want. Otherwise there is a standard zip in the midNIGHT rom extra folder that you can flash that will install the most commonly used features. I would recommend that for a beginner.

The 4.1 upgrade can be flashed on top of 4.0. All it does is upgrade a few things from the 4.0 rom. It was a way to keep people who were using 4.0 from having to backup their phones when doing the upgrade. I'm thinking that there were not enough changes in the 4.1 upgrade to justify a full rom.

If you do decide to go this route please, please, please read the OP, and the infomation on the lost & tired page. We are very willing to help when you have questions with what you have read.

Again sorry for the no vote. I'll understand for the flaming I will get for it. Thanks for the hard work you put in to building such great roms. I honestly don't no how you have the time to do it. I also wish the best for you and your family.

It doesn't tell me who voted "no" but now I know it was you.....kidding.. Actually if you look at the xda thread a few people voted no. All that tells me is that I have to focus a bit more on the topic... I can't change the vote but you are fine. It isn't right or wrong.. Your fine...no worries....

I think I have a zip for that. I'll look and post if I find it when I get home, unless someone beats me to it.

Edit: Here you go. It's an edify flashable zip.
Only works on the ACS rom. The one for midNIGHT rom is on page 11.

Doesn't matter what order you do it in.

Re: [ROM] midNIGHT ROM v4.0 (BYOR Edition) 2/24/2011

I thought the "stock froyo launcher.zip" in the midNIGHT ROM Extras directory was the TW launcher. Is this not correct?
