If you would like to test the new midNIGHT Theme v3 Beta it is located here on my blog. Just click on the Android Development page at the top.

-This theme is visually the same as the previous version.
- I have not yet implemented the 1% battery mod.
-This theme uses the EVO battery gauge
-I am just looking to see there this fixes the battery gauge problems while plugged in. 1% mod will be added after I confirm the fixes here.
-My Epic had an "accident" today so I cannot finish testing these until Monday.

You spoke too soon darren.wlsn1, I see I'm not the only one with that restart problem. By the way, I didn't restore anything, I was running stock, no apps or other add-ons.

Re: midNIGHT ROM DK28 (Froyo) v2.4 EXT4 (DUAL) New Kernel >also naked edition< 01/01/

I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in about the prepare.zip. This is how I went to EXT4 step-by-step :

The following needs to be on your SD card:

QuantumRomv2.5.zip
midNIGHT_v2.3EXT4
prepare.zip and KERN-DK28EXT4.zip from the OneClickEXT4.v1.2 folder

On your PC you need to have:

Odin
SPH-D700-DI18-8Gb-REL.tar.md5
SPH-D700-DK28-8Gb-REL.tar
OneClickEXT4.v1.2 (folder)
One Click Root v2.5.5 (folder)

1- Odin to DI18 with SPH-D700-DI18-8Gb-REL.tar.md5 and allow it to boot all the way up.

2- Odin to DK28 with SPH-D700-DK28-8Gb-REL.tar and allow it to boot all the way up.

3- Go to Settings > Applications > Development > and check USB Debugging. Connect phone to PC with USB cable.

4- Open the "one.click.root.exploitv2.5.5" folder, and open the "Run.bat" file.

3- The phone will reboot into a now rooted stock DK28.

4- Use the 4-button push method (press and hold Volume Up, Volume Down, Camera and Power buttons all at once) and reboot into Clockwork. Flash Quantum Rom 2.5, and then reboot. It should get stuck at the Samsung screen. Pull the battery and boot back into clockwork.

5- Flash the prepare.zip file, do not reboot yet.

6- Go to Advanced, and select "Reboot Recovery".

7- The phone should reboot into clockwork with the version ending in .2 not .0. Plug in the USB cable and run the "install-ext4.bat" file in the OneClickEXT4.v1.2 folder. Do not reboot yet.

8- Reflash the QuantumRom2.5.zip file. Do not reboot yet.

9- Flash the KERN-DK28EXT4.zip file.

10- Reboot the phone, you should now be in a working Quantom Rom with EXT4 enabled.

11- Go to Market and download QuickBoot.

12- Run Quick Boot and select Recovery to boot back into Clockwork.

13- This should put you back in clockwork version ending in .2 not .0. Wipe Data 3 times, then Cache 3 Times, then Dalvick 3 times.

14- Flash midNIGHT v2.3EXT4.zip. Do not reboot.

15- Re-flash the KERN-DK28EXT4.zip file.

16- Reboot, and you have a working midnight ROM.

I've seen other methods but I can confirm that this one works. Now I am pretty sure that steps 1 and 15 weren't necessary but I was following someone else's instructions (Thanks a ton BZ5 for that!). My install went perfectly and I have not had a single FC or problem. Oh, and my battery life is AWESOME!

My 2 cents.

Re: midNIGHT ROM DK28 (Froyo) v2.4 EXT4 (DUAL) New Kernel >also naked edition< 01/01/

I just re-did everything and followed the How to install EXT4 on a rooted DK28 ROM in 3 steps……. which was very simple, but reverted back to DK28. Basically like Johnny.Bravo's instructions but revised.

The following needs to be on your SD card:

midNIGHT_v2.4EXT4

On your PC you need to have:

Odin
SPH-D700-DK28-8Gb-REL.tar
One Click Root v2.5.5 (folder)
OneClickEXT4.v1.3 (folder)

1- Odin to DK28 with SPH-D700-DK28-8Gb-REL.tar and allow it to boot all the way up.

2- Go to Settings > Applications > Development > and check USB Debugging. Connect phone to PC with USB cable.

3- Open the "one.click.root.exploitv2.5.5" folder, and open the "Run.bat" file.

4- The phone will reboot into a now rooted stock DK28.

Then follow the How to install EXT4 on a rooted DK28 ROM in 3 steps……

1) Boot into clock work and flash the midnight v2.4 ROM

2) Once completed back out to the main menu in clockwork and scroll down to advanced and select “reboot Recovery” and plug the usb cable into the phone.

3) Once your back into the “New” Recovery v2.5.1.2 run the “install-ext4” found inside the OneClickEXT4.v1.3 folder (That’s on your computer) and wait 3-5 minutes for it to complete then reflash the midNIGHT ROM

I think the Midnight Ext4 rom has the recovery and the kernel built in. Not necessary to flash Quantum in other words. I didn't anyway and it works for me.
Edit: I went back and checked to make sure. The kernel is indeed included in the rom. Much easier and faster. The formatter zip also makes it much easier if a bit longer.
