I have tried a Laptop, and Desktop, and used the ports on the back.
I allowed the phone to update to DI18, and then tried to do the First and Last. I forced the phone to DI18 using Odin, to see if that would do anything, Same result. I had the same problem when I was trying to install Clockworkmod. I just updated the instructions in the Wiki and added a line that says not to mount the SD card. Hopefully that will help out in the future.
