Re: Micro USB to HDMI cable

All initial reports claimed the Epic 4g (and all Galaxy S phones) could use this cable to output HDMI. I can't find any recent information to back this up.

Are you sure this is not compatible? I did not post this in the wrong section. Do we really have no video out option on the Epic?

edit: Look at the eBay listing. It specifically says it's for the Galaxy S ... And lists the Epic 4g specifically!

edit2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737825 <- XDA thread. Verdict: Doesn't work now, but might be possible with a software update (Nov14 update anyone?)

Re: Micro USB to HDMI cable

For anyone confused, the links about TV-out functionality posted earlier were in reference to TV-out through the 3.5mm jack.

TV-out from microUSB->HDMI has never worked on the Galaxy S phones and is expected to possibly work via a software update from Samsung in the future.

These are two entirely different issues.

Kernel developers are already fixing the blocked/disabled TV-out, check changelog:

i let him know it wouldnt and that they were close to getting the 3.5 jack working for video out.

some one else jumped in and we were discussing video out in general. it wasnt specific to usb to hdmi because he was saying he could do that with his evo via hdmi out. there for weren now talking about sprint tv being the reason video out is disabled over all.

No offense to you, but you're the first saying that sprint tv was the reason that video out was disabled that I have heard of.
then mr joe here basically says zomg your talking about 3.5 video out!!! thats almost working!!! look at my links!!!!
and then contradicts what he said in his second post about how this cable works on all sgs phones.
also he said devs are fixing the blocked tv out. that is contridicory to him saying it was highly unlikely sprint disabled it.

yea. thats deff. not victory to me. unless he was victorious in looking like a noob and a backtracker
you got him there.

Re: Micro USB to HDMI cable

then you should deff buy it. lol. good luck with that, because it will never work.
sprint specifically had video out disabled because it would be possible to stream sprint tv.
i think before that cable is ever going to work, they will have video out via the headphone jack like all the other galaxy s phones.

I wasn't aware that anyone would even care to watch something so crappy on a larger device.

No offense to you, but you're the first saying that sprint tv was the reason that video out was disabled that I have heard of.
