Engadget said its possible but they got no info on this...they are just as clueless as to how sprint will treat it as we are. If sprint is smart they will include it at no extra charge..that is the best way to get head ground and stop the bleeding of customers not to mention entice new customers. Their biggest thing is Educating the consumer though.

Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G

I'm all over this
Currently a TP user and I love it!
I hope that the Hotspot feature is just like tethering with the TP and doesn't require an extra charge for it....

And with no KB, i could care less....i hardly use that slide out thing ever. soo fast on that type screen

Jizzed my pants when i was reading about this phone! Was going to wait till next January to dump my old contract ( in Mother's name) and get one in my name ( i have credit/ which is better than mothers) but now i might just buy this during the summer....

Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G

The one thing that has me a bit concerned is what is the battery life going to be like on this monster? It's only coming with a 1500mAh battery - that's the same as the TP2 and Hero... Don't get me wrong, the battery life on both of those phones is fine but with all the power hungry hardware this thing is packing doesn't 1500mAh seem a bit light?

lol you're a clown... sorry I had to say it. I switched from winmo to android and it was the best move I ever made. You're going to change carriers to get an inferior phone to this one with inferior coverage. Yea.. makes sense. Winmo is sooooooooooo 1800's compared to Android 2.1 its just pathetic.. in only its second version of an OS its already better than winmo. And this is coming from someone that's been super pro winmo for the past 5 years. Better is better.. I have no loyalty to an OS especially when there are better options available. Dont know where you live but I have a Sprint line and a T-mobile line and the tmo couldnt even dream of picking up everywhere the sprint does. There is no way in HELL I could have a tmobile as my only line.

Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G

Not that I'm a band wagon fan or anything....But I have to say that I'm jumping aboard this too. ASAP!!! I was really hoping it would be available the first week in April, but that's the way it goes. I was kind of hoping to have the Ipad and the Evo at the same time. Like a kid in a candy store!!!

Re: Sprint HTC Evo 4G

OMG! I am so excited for this phone. I have been moping around cause of that darn HD2 and praying Spring would give us something to hang on to...and wham! ITS A BEAST!!!

Front camera!? Self portraits!? 8mp camera WITH A FLASH! I have been weary of leaving winmo myself and so far i am in no way impressed with win7. But for this BEAST of a phone....I'm going Android!!!

HD2 = Beauty
Evo = BEAST!!!!!

The same reason Sprint forced a lot of their customers to drop their 10 vision plan and purchase Power Pack for EVDO when the 6700 came out. People will do it! Sprint follows the same plan most providers go with, tell the customer no and 85% of them will say ok and pay. Look at the forums at the number of people with SERO who were told they can't get this phone or that phone because of the plan. Data is data doesn't matter what you call it is supposed to be unlimited. When I went to upgrade to the 6700 I had a rep on the phone tell me I was lying and EVDO was available and I would have to pay the $30 a month for data. I finally (convinced) a rep that EVDO was not available and it did take another year for us to get it. So they let me keep my $10 unlimited internet. When Evo drops I promise there will be a charge or a new tier of plans you have to sign up for. Its all about being informed as a consumer before you walk into a store and get sold a line of nonsense. Stop being sheeple!

1500 mah should be ok

the iphone 3gs runs a 1219 mah

the HD2 runs a 1230 mah

the pro2 runs a 1500 mah and I don't see anyone complaining about pro2 battery life right?

This is exactly my hang up... I will be OK with paying an additional data fee (when) 4g comes to my area but not until then, and I am so far off the beaten path I highly doubt 4g will get to me for at least a year or more... The largest city to me is New Orleans but even that city is 60 miles away they don't have 4g yet anyway. In comparo to the entire U.S. very very few places still have 4g yet, I just can't see the masses paying for the additional 4g service just because the phone can provide it but only 1/8 of Sprint subscribers can actually use it???
