Still makes sense. If they do it right, they will just update their PC OS at the same times as their Mobile OS

Re: Microsoft's Plan to Save Windows Mobile

I think the ultimate OS would be one that you can buy that can go on your computer as well as on your device, just on install disk. I believe if one company can get this going, you would see and explosion in development. Imagine, building an app that can work on your laptop/computer and on your mobile phone without having to write different code!

It would be great, but it sounds like the computer manufacturers are way more liberal than the mobile ones. It seems like you can already install Windows 7 on any compatible computer, but you need a carrier-specific OS for your phone. If they can bypass carrier influence, I think Microsoft would love to do that.

Re: Microsoft's Plan to Save Windows Mobile

I can see all Microsoft products working together soon. With the availability of 32GB microSD cards they can even label phones as Zunes if they do it right. Who knows what they will come up with.

I doubt it will take WM8. I just got the feeling they are gonna do this right.

hd2 is overrated. I'mwaiting even longer for a better one I've had my eye on.

not so much.
other ones still lack alot of little features wm has, and tons of apps it has.
Now with no backwards compatibility for apps, then that wouldn't matter as much. But I guarantee someone somewhere will make an emulator if it's not microsoft themself.

Big +1 here.
Only advertisements I see for it is htc.

+1. They know what needs to be done, and watching the development team stuff makes me believe they are putting every last ounce of effort into this OS.

lol. not really. yeah, they're siick.
BUUUUUT....look at others that are coming out.
Personally I'd rather have one of the two following phones over the hd2...
The Motorola Mirage (shadow) - although I don't like the design, just like all of the features and if it has a snapdragon (haven't looked into it too much) then I will probably get one.
Or LG Expo - that projector would be quite a awesome way to show off. LOL.

Re: Microsoft's Plan to Save Windows Mobile

wm7 is not likely to make many people want to switch from android or iphone. Had they came out with it last year maybe but they've already fallen too far behind in that aspect.
