Re: Expanding PPCGeeks' Horizons
I honestly dont understand why people are complaining. No one is taking away from the WinMo community. There will be no fewer chefs or posts or threads about WinMo devices. So the site CREATOR decides to expand a little. If you don't have a Pre or other phone, dont go to that forum. I personally got a Pre - but still carry my Touch Pro as well. I like that I dont have to go to another site for the Pre stuff. I dont have to "jump ship" from the site just because I expanded my phone selection. Us WinMo people hate it when iPhone fanboys bash our devices, but why do the same and bash other non-competing technologies? WebOS is Nice, but in my eyes WinMo will always be the best OS for me. Ok - enough preaching...

Re: Expanding PPCGeeks' Horizons
I dont see this as being a bad thing. However adding the WebOS sub-forum for Palm devices made sense , since Palm is considered a Smartphone maker and Palm devices are smartphones. However the iPhone shouldnt be allowed. Now Android is made by HTC which makes smartphones, so I can kinda see them being here. But not really.

Re: Expanding PPCGeeks' Horizons
Ha Ha! I remember back in the day when WinMo fanboys would go at it with PalmOS guys over at palminfocenter and brighthand..., LOL Now the shoes (not quite yet) on the other foot "No iPhone!!!!" LMAO
I think this is a great change, as I own two phones with different OS's. |

Re: Expanding PPCGeeks' Horizons
I think this is an excellent Idea.
I just don't like the iphone or really care about the symbian part. (more of a personal preference though) But this is a fantastic idea.

Re: Expanding PPCGeeks' Horizons
I also think this is going to be a nice change.. so I'm not that interested in other OS's, it'll still offer support to a more wide audience, and maybe we can help others when they need it. We have a very strong community, and I think this is a step in the right direction.

Re: Expanding PPCGeeks' Horizons
So windows needs an enforced monopoly to stay on top? If they continue to provide the best product then they shouldn't have any problems. I for one welcome the new sections but I don't know how well they'll do as this is known as a windows mobile site. It would be cool if they took off though.

Re: Expanding PPCGeeks' Horizons
I don't see why people are so up in arms over this... if you aren't interested in the devices, don't venture into their forums. I don't have a Treo, and thus don't go there, but that doesn't mean I'm offended there is a forum for Treos on this site. Calm down, maybe back off the coffee just a bit.

Re: Expanding PPCGeeks' Horizons
I say bring it on. It is a bit of change with the site offering support for non-WinMob devices but facing the facts that there are a lot more out there with the Pre, iPhone, G1, etc there has to be at least consideration. It will be OK folks, I promise not to let Coz put up the pink plastic flamingoes he wanted to.
