These are the same rules the site has always had. Some things are just expanded on so that everyone is on the same page. The staff process was posted so that everyone knows what will happen if a rule is broken.

We are forcing everyone to read this thread so that everyone is aware of the rules and there will be no excuses if a rule is broken. This will also force new users to read the rules after they register on the site.

Everything in orange is new.

For the original rules, please see this thread.

1. No curse words. And don't try to fool the Swear Filter. This includes posts, signatures, images, and avatars. This also includes anything that implies swearing. Anything that breaks this rule may be removed by a staff member with or without warning.

2. No Posting of Adult Material without "*18+ Only* or*NSFW*" at the beginning of the title. Since you can't put a warning on sigs or avatars, adult material will NOT be allowed in either, and may be removed by a staff member without warning. This includes anything related to nudity, drugs, sex, and violence.

3. Please use the search feature before starting new threads. Odds are we have already discussed your problem. Please see this thread for searching tips. If you come across a question that has been discussed before, please still be helpful and post a link to the topic instead of just telling the user to search first. We're all about helping eachother!

4. No Flaming anyone, we are all friends. This includes starting threads about a person or an issue. If there is an issue with something, it belongs in PMs, NOT in the public forum. Do not call out people in the forums, this belongs in PMs. If you have an issue with someone, PM a staff member. If you have an issue with a staff member, PM me or another staff member.

5. Posting of Illegal software is not permitted. So DON'T do it. We have a zero-tolerance for anything related to warez and ESN cloning. Please see this thread for the reminders.

6. We have a warning/banning system built in and we will use it.

7. We don't currently have any strict restrictions on signature sizes, but please, out of courtesy, keep them a reasonable size. If your signature is too large, you may be asked to reduce the size.

So everyone has the same expectations, I will post the process the staff members will follow as well. This will hopefully make sure everyone is on the same page.

-We will try to PM the user before or after we remove something that is against the rules. We may PM the user and give them the opportunity to remove the item in question within a specified time frame. If the user doesn't comply within this time frame (or if it the item is bad enough), we will remove the item ourselves.

-If someone breaks one of the zero-tolerance rules, you will be banned for 1 week for your first offense without a warning first. If it happens again, you will be permanently banned from the site.

-For all other issues, a staff member will PM you with a warning on your first offense. If it happens a second time you will be banned for atleast 1 week. On your third offense, you will be permanently banned from the site.

-For VIP members--Since you are looked up to by the rest of the community, you are expected to be role models, not rule breakers. Being a VIP member is a privlege and it can be revoked at any time. If you break the above rules, the staff can either give you a temporary ban from the site, temporarily remove your VIP status, permanently remove your VIP status, or permanently ban you from the site. You will still receive a warning first, but on the 2nd offense, any of the above methods will be used. Being a VIP doesn't give you the right to break rules, but it does give us more options for punishment than just banning someone.

To prevent things from getting out of hand, please think before you post. If you do get a warning from a staff member, please comply and remember your warning, because the 2nd offense will be more severe. We give warnings for a reason, hopefully to prevent things from happening again. If you have an issue with a warning you received, please PM me or another staff member. You may not get an answer right away since some things might have to get looked into. You may also reply to the warning and discuss it with the staff member that gave it to you.

There are thousands of people on this site and only a handful of staff members. As a user, if you find something that breaks a rule, please PM a staff member so that we can handle it. We may not catch everything right away, so we have to rely on the users at times.
