Question New Omnia-2 issues

I have searched the forum, but with the terms I am searching for, there is so much information to browse through, and I am an old man and all that.

I have used this forum and set up my new Omnia i910 to my liking, including tethering. There is almost every question and issue on this forum and I have really been able to set the phone up thanks to the information here.

The phone already came with the Samsung ROM version listed in another thread here, the update from Samsung that unlocks the GPS, which I have working with Google Maps and GPS Weather Radar. I can even install widgets, although I have yet to find any.

Bear in mind I have done nothing other than install HTC X Button, Skyfire, Palringo, and a few games. Other that that it is exactly as it came from Verizon.

I have two issues I cannot seem to resolve.

Question One: When I set the phone to Auto Answer (I drive a lot and use the Bluetooth headset) there is this persistent notification I cannot get rid of. If I restart the phone it returns. It takes over my left soft key which I have customized to "Contacts". It simply will not go away.

I tried the registry key trick found here, and I am sure I have gotten rid of the charged notification, which also would not go away without a reset. However, it doesn't work for the Auto Answer notification.

How can I get rid of this notification? I don't want or need to see it, but the ability to dismiss it would be wonderful.

Question Two: The Weatherbug widget just suddenly stopped working. If I drag it to the "desktop" of the phone, the loading icon just stays, and it does not appear, nor can it be clicked on. It was working when I went to bed last night, this morning, it just sits there loading. No changed to the phone, no restarts. I then tried disabling/enabling it, nothing. Tried restarting the phone, nothing. Tried shutting the phone off and on, nothing. Network settings are correct, the defaults. Has this happened to anyone else?

EDIT: I think I double posted this. It is late and I am old. Sorry, please delete one of them if I did.

the weatherbug problem might be on their end, not yours. give it a day or so and if it still persists, let us know. as for the auto answer, i wish i could help with that but i've never utilized that feature.

I have the same problem with Weatherbug on my i910 as well. It's annoying.

Re: New Omnia-2 issues

I used Resco explorer to search for *.wgt and found the widget. I opened it, and it gave me a message that it had installed successfully, and then worked until I reset the phone, back to not working again. I think it is a corrupt XML file that didn't download correctly, but I have no idea where it would be or what it is called.

Re: New Omnia-2 issues

I will PAY someone or give them an unopened copy of MS Office 2007 if that person can fix these persistent notifications. "Auto Answer Enabled" will not go away, even after a hard reset as long as I have auto answer on. "Charge Complete" will not go away until I reset the phone.

There has to be a registry edit or way to dismiss or even disable these notifications.

You might try MemMaid, which allows notifications to be deleted. Download and use as a free trial for 14 days.

Re: New Omnia-2 issues

Incredible program! Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it doesn't even see the auto answer notification for some odd reason.
