Also to actually teather your phone to your laptop and use the internet go to:
http://www.modaco.com/content-page/2...omnia/page/40/ that should work for ya as well to fully be able to teather. |

Re: Omnia tethering to new laptop
I got it working just a few minutes after I posted my original message. Needed to install active sync to get the drivers working.
One question tho, will Verizon see a huge spike in usage of my mobile web and decide to charge me extra on my bill......seeing as how I have unlimited usage I don't feel that would be very fair of them to do...but I am getting a service for free that they normally charge for. Anybody have any experience with this? |

Re: Omnia tethering to new laptop
Well I have the big V as well and I use it no problems. For all they know you are on the internet alot. Nothing shows up that you are teathered. You also want to make sure that in the settings/system/power/on the bottom of that page bring bottom tab all the way over to the right so you can see wifi, and turn off wife power save mode. Also in power you want to turn off the screenoff, and phone off settings while teathered or you will randomly disconnect.

If you check your VZW online account, you will see everything you do show up as Domestic Data. Tethering shows up as Domestic Mobile Broadband Connect Data, that is if you're using the VZAccess Manager. As long as you don't watch YouTube and Hulu all day long and just use it for occasional usage, you will be fine. I would recommend using Adblock and or Flashblock (Firefox addons; you should have Flashblock at the least) to decrease your data usage. |
