Re: How do you Force 1x on CF03?
Is this just so that you dont use data connection (i think to say it shortly is gprs?).
If thats the case then i just go to settings,connections,2cnd tab(advanced), select network management, then on the first one that says Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using: make is so that its My work Network This should make it so that only wifi that is with the setting of my work network only connects. Hope this helps |

Re: How do you Force 1x on CF03?
Actually, the reason I'd want to know is to prevent the phone from "searching" for EVDO in a 1x-only coverage area. I don't know about the Omnia, but my last phone used a ton of battery doing this. Forcing it to 1x prevented this futile searching and about tripled the battery life in known fringe areas.

Re: How do you Force 1x on CF03?
On CF03 there is not the settings as described (start/settings/phone/advanced/). I have searched this board, searched other popular boards dedicated to the Omnia have still have yet to find the solution.
The regedit that is made reference to is: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting] "HiddenModeOperationPage"=dword:0 This works fine for HTC devices, but not on the Omnia with CF03. I need this because I am on a Network Extender. I have perfect signal on 1x, but my EVDO is barely usable. So my phone just eats my battery. When I actually need speed , I just throw on the wifi and I am good. There has got to be a solution. Last edited by meflaboy; 07-29-2009 at 01:25 AM. |

Re: How do you Force 1x on CF03?
There's a good chance the EVDO settings are saved in the firmware buried in the CSC, which (unfortunately) the chefs don't have access to. I doubt it's a Windows Mobile registry setting because all of Verizon's phones switch to EVDO when it's available, incuding non-WinMo phones.
In other words, there's a good chance you are SOL |

But again, I'm almost positive that the i910 Omnia's network settings are locked in the CSC |
