Backlight "turn off" setting blanking out when locked

I am having trouble with the backlight setting blanking out when I lock my phone. I set it to turn off after 3 minutes, and when I lock and then unlock the phone, it has blanked out, so that the backlight will only stay on for a few seconds when I am using any programs or anything. If I don't lock it, which I do when I put it in my purse or pocket, then it will keep the setting.

I still have not flashed to the new official rom. I was going to give it a little longer to stabilize, or until I don't get nervous flashing. I have never done that before.

Still, is there a good explanation for this happening?? I don't run much that is not stock on the original phone. I am running Mobile Shell. The lock is just the stock lock pgm that came with the phone. It has worked fine for me, and I have not seen a need to change to the s2u2, except for this problem. This has only cropped up the past couple of weeks and I have had the phone since Feb '09.

Please, anyone else that has had this issue, please tell me if you have fixed it, or been able to do anything with it.

Re: Backlight "turn off" setting blanking out when locked

did you insall any apps that also have backlight settings? my settings were getting reverted to default only because of an app i installed didnt change in the registry so i had to uninstall it and reinstall it and now its working fine. look at your apps and see what you got and if nothing else theres always a hard reset

Re: Backlight "turn off" setting blanking out when locked

Thank you for your reply. I am quite sure that nothing has been installed for more than a month. This problem has been more recent than that, maybe the past 2 weeks.

Anyone else have a suggestion? Thanks. This is the best forum around.
