Re: Currently have a sprint touch pro..wanna switch to VZ
I was with Sprint and moved to AT&T and iphone. That didn't work out at all because of AT&T but the iphone is really pretty nice. We have moved over to Tmo for now and since we had our own phones we didn't need a contract so we are on month to month.
The data issue is very big for me so I will be moving to Verizon when they take over Alltel in our area on September 12. My wife loves her iphone and she will stay with Tmo and I will move to Verizon and go back to WM and, hopefully, the Omnia II. If that isn't available yet I'm not sure what I'll do because I don't see any point in buying a year old phone when the newer stuff is about to land. I could just stay with Tmo until VZW gets the Omnia II and I know that its not crippled by them. The reason for going to VZW is because of their vastly superior coverage out here in the rural boonies of Kansas where we live. R |

do you ever find yourself missing the keyboard? or with the larger screen is the on screen keyboard not an issue?? And whats different with the verizon roms from the custom ones....as for waiting for a phone, if I don't do the switch now I won't be able to get any money for my touch pro...and am really getting tired of sprints service...I always find myself roaming and missing calls. |

A couple of days after I made that post I activated my Omnia again (after flashing the CF03 ROM). I tried out a couple of 6.5 ROMS on top of it & tweaked it to how I like it. I only lasted about a day & 1/2 with the Omnia before I reactivated my TP. After using it again, I found It wasn't the lack of a physical keyboard that bugged me, it was that I saw all the Omnia quirks I used to have to work around coming back again. I had to re-boot 3x to get my wifi to show up again after a few hours (no WMWifirouter installed), GPS took forever to lock & would only find 5 sats when my TP found 9 sats quick, would have to replace sound files to remove the annoying "HEY I'M GONNA WAKE YOU UP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE TO GET UP AT 4AM JUST TO LET YOU KNOW YOUR PHONE IS CHARGED" notification, and something I installed caused the "wouldn't wake from suspend" problem. Found it ironic that my phone would wake me from my deep sleep, but I couldn't return the favor. The WQVGA resolution also looked awful to me after using the TP VGA (was pixelated & grainy). I'm not trying to troll or start a flame war here, so please don't take it that way. I have much respect for the ROM builders & everyone that has helped me in the Omnia forum here. This phone got me into winmo phones & I have been enjoying the hell out of it. Alot of my problems might be because I purchased my Omnia on release day (something I usually don't do with tech stuff ), from what I understand (correct me if I'm wrong) the later releases had improvements. I'm still playing with this phone, because I want to use it (the specs are much better than the TP)..Right now I'm liking the flash I did with Blazingwolf's 6.5 ROM and thinking of activating it again. But my TP has been so consistantly solid no matter what tweaks I do to it that I am still sticking with it for now. Anyway...enough of my rambling...I suggest you go to a Verizon store & play with the Omnia to see if you like it better than your TP. Hope I helped & didn't make things worse... Re: Currently have a sprint touch pro..wanna switch to VZ
Not that I don't want you to get an Omnia but have you thought of porting your TP to Verizon? Should be pretty easy to do. (at least my Vogue wasn't that hard)
