As Close to WebOS as Omnia is Going To Get (At The Moment) Animated Task View

I tested a friends palm pre out and I was impressed. It's a beautiful piece of hardware. The free floating panels it uses are pretty cool. I am sure it's possible to emulate such a thing on windows mobile. Maybe someone can turn this into a reality.

Re: Free Floating Panels Like Palm Pre?????

It has to be possible. For the old Palm OS, they have something called TealOS. Put it on my GF's Centro, and boom, instant Pre.

Re: Free Floating Panels Like Palm Pre?????

I actually just spent 2 hours today trying to find a Web OS theme/skin. Shockingly I can't even find a trace of one. Did I miss one?

I don't believe one exists for windows mobile... But with flash or sliverlight, this should easily be mimicked in regards to look and feel.

Re: Free Floating Panels Like Palm Pre?????

Actually... Taking a look at the spb shell 3 in carousel view... It is almost there. Just some additional functionality to this would yield a result similar to what we see with webos. Will this be in spb 4?

When you say "panels", do you mean cards? Those are the applications that show up when you press the button and they all appear on screen, you can flick through them left and right, then flick up to close an app. (Looks VERY slick btw)
Here's a little video demo: http://www.isyougeekedup.com/palm-pr...demonstration/

I think there is actually some app for winmo that lets you see screenshots of all running programs but it's not like card view.

Re: Free Floating Panels Like Palm Pre?????

First let me say thanks to blazingwolf who lead me to search for the most recent version of task facade... We are getting closer to a functional task app like the webos has. Visit the link below to view the latest version of the app. It is pretty cool.
