Can not overwrite rom files

I just updated the phone with the new Verizon Rom and I no longer can overwrite rom files. Anybody else having this issue. I made a new Ani_Poweroff.gif but Resco gives me the message "Can not copy file - file already exists". Did Verizon lock this feature down? Thanks.

Re: Can not overwrite rom files

I don't think Ani_Poweron.gif and Ani_Poweroff.gif were Rom files in the original or leaked CC20 Rom. They are now with CF03, damn it. Now I have to learn how to cook a Rom. Verizon those sneaky bastards. For those who never changed those files, they are the intro and exit animation of the Verizon logo.

Re: Can not overwrite rom files

I have had issues with trying to over-write a few of the rom files in the windows directory. However, I've found that if you rename the file before copying it and then change it back after putting it in the windows directory it works. So in your case it would be:
1) change the name of your new file to Ani_Poweroff1.gif
2) copy Ani_Poweroff1.gif into the windows directory
3) change the name of Ani_Poweroff1.gif back to Ani_Poweroff.gif
4) wait a few seconds to make sure the changes stick (i usually give it 30 seconds) and soft reset the phone and you should be good to go

Re: Can not overwrite rom files

yea, Im using CF03 and Adrynalyne's 6.5 2.0 rom. It's working for me to overwright StartMenu_Selection.png so I'm not really sure what your issue could be... maybe ask one of the guys in Adrynalyne's thread, most of them are way better with everything than I am. Sorry it's not workin for ya =(

Re: Can not overwrite rom files

I think in resco explorer settings there is something that you can change that will allow you to overwrite rom files. Check out all the settings

I use SPB backup and I had a problem overwriting files after upgrading to CC20 so I used the restore feature and selected the specific files I wanted to overwrite and it worked fine...and I did it again with CF03

Re: Can not overwrite rom files

Thanks for all the comments - I guess I'm going to have to upgrade to an Adrynalyne ROM.
Can somebody else test this problem with CF03 only, no cooked ROM only Verizon official ROM, and post if they can or can not. I know people have said they can, but those people have upgraded to a cooked Adrynalyne CF03 ROM. Thanks
